134 TAŞNİF STYLE GUIDE Non-Quranic Text Overview For non-Quranic Arabic and Persian text, if no translation is provided in the Urdu, then the translator may translate it into English in line, directly after the original Arabic or Persian text. All such in-line translations must be marked clearly as being from the publisher by the use of brackets ( ) around the given transla- tion. This makes it clear that in the original text, the Arabic had not been translated by the author, and it is now being given by the publisher in English for the reader's benefit.
