PT. 24 AL-MU'MIN CH. 40 وَاَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْافَةِ إِذِ الْقُلُوبُ And warn them of the Day. 19 that is fast approaching, when لَدَى الْحَنَاجِرِ عَظِمِينَ مَا لِلظَّلِمِيْنَ the hearts will reach to the مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاع throats while they will be full of suppressed grief. Commentary: The words "the fast approaching day" beside referring to the Day of Judgement may quite fittingly be applied to the day in this life when falsehood is vanquished and truth triumphs. They may also refer, as already mentioned, to the day when Mecca fell and the forces of evil were finally and irretrievably routed in 2777 Arabia and disbelievers could not even give vent to their grief that was eating into their hearts. 3509. It is an intensive epithet like a (very learned man) and is also the feminine gender of which means, an unfaithful, treacherous and perfidious person. (khawwān) and as both mean, very unfaithful, treacherous and perfidious. means, a surreptitious look at a thing which it is not allowable to look at, or looking intentionally at a thing which it is not permissible to see i. e. treachery of the eyes (Lane).
