PT. 24 E CH. 40 AL-MU'MIN 16. He attributes, Lord of the Throne. رَفِيعُ الدَّرَجَتِ ذُو الْعَرْشِ يُلْقِى is of most exalted الرُّوحَ مِنْ اَمْرِهِ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ He sends the Word by His لِيُنْذِرَ يَوْمَ السَّلَاقِ command to whomsoever of His servants He pleases, that He may give warning of the Day of Meeting 3506 يَوْمَ هُمُ برِزُونَ لَا يَخْفَى عَلَى اللهِ The day when they will all. 17 b come forth; "nothing concerning مِنْهُمُ شَيْ لِمَنِ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ them will be hidden from Allah لِلَّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ "Whose is the kingdom this day? It is Allah's, the One, the Most Supreme. 3507 الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ This day will every soul be. 18 لَا ظُلْمَ الْيَوْمَ اِنَّ اللهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ !earned. No injustice this day requited for that which it has Surely, Allah is Swift reckoning. at 16:3; 97:5. 3:6; 14:39. 18:45; 48:15; 82:20. d14:52; 45:23; 74:39. 3506. Commentary: In this verse God has been described as which literally meaning, "Possessor or Owner of the Throne," has been translated as Lord of the Throne for want of a better word. Elsewhere (23:87,117) God has been described as ✓i. e. Lord of the Throne. (Throne) as mentioned above (v. 8) signifies Divine attributes. The construction will be brought face to face with the evil consequences of their wicked deeds on the Day of Reckoning. These deeds were never hidden from God but on the Day of Judgement they will appear in an embodied form before the eyes of the disbelievers themselves. The words "this day" may signify the Last Judgement Day, or the hour of reckoning of disbelievers in this very life. This hour of reckoning came upon the disbelieving Quraish on the day of Fall of Mecca when the the realization dawned upon them that "the kingdom was Allah's the One, the Most Supreme. " ذو Lord of the Throne) is like) ذو العرش ai. e. Lord of mercy (18:59) and thus refutes the popular wrong notion that is something physical. For (Word) see 4:172 and 16:3. 3507.
