CH. 39 AZ-ZUMAR PT. 24 الَيْسَ اللهُ بِكَافٍ عَبْدَهُ وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ Is not Allah sufficient for. 37 His servant? And yet they بِالَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ الله would frighten thee with those beside Him. "And he whom Allah adjudges astray-for him there is no guide. 3460 38. b And he whom guides there is none to lead him astray. Is not Allah the Mighty, the Lord of retribution?3461 فَمَالَهُ مِنْ هَاية وَمَنْ يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَمَالَهُ مِنْ مُضِلَّ أَلَيْسَ Allah اللهُ بِعَزِيزِ ذِي انْتِقَامٍ وَلَبِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّماتِ And if thou ask them, Who. 39 created the heavens and the وَالْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللهُ قُلْ أَفَرَءَيْتُمْ مَّا earth?, they will surely say تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ اِنْ اَرَادَنِيَ اللَّهُ 'Allah. ' Say, 'What think ye, if Allah intends to do me harm, بِضُرِهَلْ هُنَّ كُشِفْتُ ضُرَّةٍ أَوْ أَرَادَتِي will those whom you call upon beside Allah be able to remove بِرَحْمَةٍ هَلْ هُنَّ مُمْسِكُتُ رَحْمَتِهِ قُلْ His harm? Or if He wills to show me mercy, could they حَسْبِيَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ يَتَوَكَّلُ الْمُتَوَكَّلُونَ withhold His mercy? Say Allah is sufficient for me. In Him trust those who would trust. Commentary: The verse reinforces and enlarges the argument given in vv. 33, 34 above, viz. that all the schemes and machinations of disbelievers cannot cause the Prophets any real harm. This forms another proof of the fact that God is at their back and His help and succour alone is sufficient for them and that the threats of disbelievers cannot intimidate them into giving up their mission. 3461. Commentary: Another fact which is writ large on the history of all religions is that those unfortunate people who incur Divine wrath by their persistent opposition to God's Messengers never go unpunished. 2754 3462.
