PT. 22 FĂŢIR CH. 35 وَاللهُ خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ And Allah created you. 12 from dust, then from a sperm- جَعَلَكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثى drop, then He made you pairs And no female conceives, nor وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِ وَمَا يُعَمَّرُ مِنْ does she bring forth a child save with His knowledge. And no one مُحَمَّرٍ وَلَا يُنْقَصُ مِنْ عُمُرِةٍ إِلَّا is granted long life who is في كِتُبِ إِنَّ ذُلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرُ وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْبَحْرِنِ هَذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ granted long life, nor is anything diminished of his life, but it is recorded in a Book. That surely is easy for Allah. 3185 13. And the two seas are not alike: this one palatable, sweet سَابِغُ شَرَابُهُ وَهُذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ وَمِنْ and pleasant to drink, and this other salt, bitter. And from كُل تَأْكُلُونَ لَحْمًا طَرِيَّا وَ تَسْتَخْرِجُونَ each you eat fresh meat, and حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ فِيْهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ therein ploughing the waves that تَشْكُرُونَ take forth ornaments which you wear. And thou seest the ships you may seek of His bounty, and that you may be grateful. 3186 "18:38; 22:6; 23:14; 36:78; 40:68. 16:15; 45:13. may refer to righteous work). In that case the subject of the verb (exalts) is God, as shown in the text. Or it may refer to (good words). In that case the subject the) العمل الصالح will be يرفع of the verb righteous work). 3185. Commentary: By referring to the very humble and insignificant origin of man the verse draws attention to the lowly beginnings of Islam and the extremely poor condition of the early Muslims and implies a prophecy that just as out of an insignificant sperm- 2631 drop there grows a well-proportioned and fully-developed human being, similarly the lowly and poor Muslims will one day grow into a mighty community. The latter part of the verse is related to what a female conceives and what she gives birth to, and to the lengthening and diminishing of a man's life implies another prophecy that the progeny of opponents of the Holy Prophet will one day become devoted followers of Islam. 3186.
