PT. 19 AL-FURQAN CH. 25 فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوكُمُ بِمَا تَقُولُونَ فَمَا Then We shall say to the. 20 idolaters: 'Now have they given تَسْتَطِيعُونَ صَرْ فَا وَلَا نَصْرًا ۚ وَمَنْ you the lie regarding what you said, so you cannot avert the punishment neither can you get help. ' And whosoever among you does wrong, We shall make him taste a grievous punishment. ' يَظْلِمُ مِنْكُمْ نُذِقْهُ عَذَابًا كَبِيرًا وَمَا اَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا And We never sent any. 21 إِنَّهُمْ لَيَأْكُلُوْنَ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشُونَ فِي food and Messengers before thee but surely they ate walked in the streets. And We others. Will you then be steadfast? And thy Lord is All- Seeing. 2657 R. 3. الْأَسْوَاقِ وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ make some of you a trial for فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۚ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًان وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَاءَنَا لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا الْمَلَيْكَةُ أَوْ نَرَى رَبَّنَا ?are angels not sent down to us لَقَدِ اسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَعَتَوْ عُدُّوا كَبِيرًا 22. And those who look not for a meeting with Us say: 'Why Or why do we not see our Lord?' Surely they are too proud of themselves and have greatly exceeded the bounds. 2658 2657. Commentary: "21:9. 10:8, 12. This verse again answers from another angle the commonplace objection of disbelievers that the Holy Prophet lived like an ordinary Iman (v. 8). It means to say that the Holy Prophet's mission is not something novel. He is just like those Divine Messengers who have gone before him. He is an ordinary mortal like them and like them he eats and talks and moves about and, like the followers of those Prophets, his followers also will have to suffer for the cause they hold dear. If these things did not stand in the way of the earlier Prophets being accepted as Divine Messengers, why should they criteria be devised to test his truth? in his case, and why should new | 2658.
