CH. 20 ṬĀHĀ PT. 16 فَأَلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدًا قَالُوا أَمَنَّا بِرَبِّ هَرُونَ وَمُوسَى. 71. Then the magicians were made to fall down prostrate. They said, "We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses. '2290 believe in him before I give you قَالَ أَمَنْتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ اذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُ Pharaoh said, “Do you. 12 لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ leave? Commentary: The verse makes it clear that it was the rod of Moses and not anything else which "swallowed" that which the magicians had wrought, and which undid their magic. The rod of Moses wielded with the spiritual force of a great Prophet and thrown at the command of Almighty God exposed the deception that the magicians had wrought on the spectators by their magic. Elsewhere in the Quran the staves and cords of the magicians have been described as their lies (7:118). 2290. Commentary: The magicians admitted their defeat and became fully convinced of the rightness and righteousness of Moses' cause. 2291. Important Words: وابقى ✓ (on account of) among other things means, because of, on account of, by reason of; as in s tubs l♪ i. e. because of their sins they were drowned (71:26). It also means on, by, etc. (Aqrab). are يخالفة disobedience and) خلاف infinitive nouns from.
