JALSA SALANA QADIAN-PROCEEDINGS AND PERSONAL REFLECTION of Mirza Ṣāḥib. After meeting Mirza Ṣāḥib, even the maulawis become humble. Otherwise, a humble maulawi and a sufi who eschews innovation is as rare these days as the philosopher's stone or a good luck potion. Maulawi Muhammad Husain should himself reflect about the level of humbleness he possesses. Certainly none. If he pos- sessed humility, why would there be such immense mischief? Why would matters deteriorate to the point that so many of his erstwhile followers would turn against him and hate him? Why would so many Ahl-e-Hadith become weary of him? If Maulawi Ṣāḥib considers me wrong in this assertion, I leave the matter to him. Let him publish a list of the friends who love him as much as the followers of Mirza Ṣāḥib love Mirza Ṣāḥib. My judgement tells me that the time is nigh when the enlight- ened ones would treat the dust off the feet [of Mirza Ṣāḥib] as treatment for their and consider it better than eyes, treatment and deem it holy. Mirza Ṣāḥib has hundreds of sin- cere friends who are devoted to him with their heart and soul. Not to speak of disagreeing, they do not even utter a symbolic any other سر تسلیم خم ہے جو مزاج یار میں آئے. :ugh in his presence, as has been said ['We bow down in submission to whatever our friend thinks']. Let Maulawi Ṣāḥib name—not many—just four or five such students or friends who love him wholeheartedly (for the sake of Allah), are devoted to him heart and soul, who would sac- rifice their properties for him, and are ready to sacrifice their honour for the honour of Maulawi Ṣāḥib. If Maulawi Ṣāḥib retorts that people do not love the truthful and the righteous, but the liars and deceivers are so loved by the people, I would ask him if the Companions and Ahl-e-Bait [members of the Prophet's household] of the Holy Prophet, had love for the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, or not? Did they follow the Holy Prophet completely or did they have any differences with him? 661
