REPLY TO SHAIKH MUHAMMAD HUSAIN BATALAWI'S PAPER 603 Walī [Friend (of Allah)], Muḥaddath [recipient of Divine discourse], or the addressee of God, if any prophecy of his comes true? MY RESPONSE―Ill-natured fabricators [of lies] like you levied the same objections against the Prophets. Abraham was accused of lying, Moses and Jesus were accused of misappropriation, and the innately blind Christians etc. , of this age, make similar accusations against the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, alleging that the property of a certain caravan was looted without the state of war. Their books are filled with such accusations. If it is now asked that if someone shed the blood of thousands and looted wealth, how can he be a true Prophet? The answer to such a fool would be 'because of his perfect [heavenly] refulgence which is not bestowed upon any except the righteous. ' A wise person would see the lustre of this refulgence and would understand the true import of these matters by his God-given wisdom. But the ignorant one will remain adamant upon his criticisms and will move straight towards Hell. The essential truth is that the right of God Almighty supersedes all other rights. Every body, soul, and property belongs to Him alone. Thus, when a man becomes disobedient, his property reverts to the Real Owner. Then the Real Owner has the right to destroy the properties of the disobedient without the intermediation of the Messengers and convey their lives to utter nothingness or cause such awe-striking pun- ishment to descend upon them through some Messenger. Both amount to the same thing. Similarly, there are thousands of matters like the acts of Khidr whose merit is revealed to the Prophets and the Muḥaddathin [recipients of Divine discourse]. They are assigned to carry them out, and those who hasten to interfere in opposition to their tasks are the ones who are destroyed. HIS STATEMENT-Have you made a prophecy of the death of my humble self upon reaching the age of 52 years or not?
