602 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS insha'Allah [God willing], describe a complete: set of criteria for settling this issue at the end of this discourse. I will now provide the necessary responses to several criticisms, and those are as follows: HIS STATEMENT-Is it incumbent upon the prophecies of even Prophets to be true or not? Page 26. MY RESPONSE―The intent of the foolish critic for raising this ques- tion seems to be as if some prophecy of my humble self came out con- trary to the actual events. Let it be clear, therefore, that this is easy to decide. It is incumbent upon the critic to arrange a meeting to pres- ent the ilham [revelation (i. e. prophecy)] of mine in which there is an error in the words of the ilham itself, not in any suspected or supposed interpretation. However, there must be some punishment for such a person to prevent him from hastening towards the filth of lying again and again. HIS STATEMENT-Can someone whose given prophecy comes true while another is false be a Mulham [recipient of Divine revelation] with respect to the truthful prophecy? MY RESPONSE O blind fool! By the grace of the Almighty, no proph- ecy of my humble self has turned out false to this day. On the contrary, nearly 3,000 have already come true, and they continue to come true. As for the error of interpretation, open [Ṣaḥīḥ al-]Bukhārī and ponder over the subject matter of ✓ ['it occurred to me']. ' And be fearful of becoming like those who turned apostate by seeing the errors of the interpretation of some prophecies. HIS STATEMENT—Can someone who tells lies, usurps the properties of others, etc. , be called a Mulham, [recipient of Divine revelation], 1. See footnote I on p. 348. [Publisher]
