AL-QASIDAH-PEARLS OF GUIDANCE & ADMONISHMENT 593 وَقَوْمِن يُعَادِيْنِى غُرُوْرًا وَنَخْوَةً مَتَى أَدْنُ رُحْمًا يَنْأَ عَنِّى وَيُبْعِدِ My people have opposed me out of pride and haughtiness. I try to approach them mercifully, but they flee from me. يَسُبُّ وَمَا أَدْرِكْ عَلَى مَا يَسُبُّنِنْ أَيُكْفَرُ مَنْ يُعْلَى لِوَاءَ مُحَمَّدِ لله They abuse me for what reason I do not know— Can someone be called a kafir [disbeliever], while he raises the flag of Muhammad, may peace and blessings of Allah be e upon him? يُزَاحِمُنِي مِنْ كُلِّ بَابٍ فَتَحْتُهَا لِنَصْرِ رَسُوْلِ اللَّهِ حِبِّي وَسَيِّدِى Whatever door I open for the succor of my Lord and Beloved Messenger of Allah, They oppose me and obstruct my way. وَقَدْ أَكْفَرُوْنِي قَبْلَ كَشْفِ حِجَابِهِمْ وَيَعْلَمُ رَبِّي صِدْقَ قَوْلِى وَمَقْصِدِى They called me a kafir even before the truth was made known to them And my Lord is well aware of my truthfulness and objectives. وَرُبَّ وَلِيٌّ اللَّهِ بِرُّ مُقَرَّبُ يُرى فِي عُيُوْنِ الْحَاسِدِينَ كَمُلْحِدِ There are many friends of Allah who are pious and accepted by the Lord, But they are seen as heretics in the eyes of the envious. وَأَيْقَظتُهُمْ رُحْمًا عَلَيْهِمْ وَشَفَقَةٌ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ أَعْدَاءُ كُلِّ مُسَهِّدِ With mercy and kindness, I awakened them, But they are enemies of all who awaken them. وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكِ أَمْرَ رَبِّي مَخَافَةً وَلَوْ قَتَلُونِي بِالْحُسَامِ الْمُجَرَّدِ I would never relinquish the commandment of my Lord Even if they cut me to pieces with a sharp unsheathed sword.
