A'INA-E-KAMALAT-E-ISLAM-DAFI UL-WASĀWIS حَيَاتُكَ بِالتَّغَافُلِ نَوْعُ نَوْمِ وَلَسْتُ بِطَالِبِ الدُّنْيَا كَزَعْمِكَ وَأَيَّامُ الْمَعَاصِي اللَّيَالِي Your negligent life is a kind of slumber- Your sinful days are like the nights. وَقَدْ طَلَّقْتُها بِالْاِعْتِزَالِ I do not seek the world as you allege- I divorced worldliness by adopting a life of solitude. الدُّنْيَا لِوَجه هذه تَرَكْنَا وَأَثَرْنَا الْجَمَالَ عَلَى الْجِمَالِ We have forsaken this world to seek His Face And preferred His Grace over hordes of camels [i. e. material wealth]. وَ إِنَّكَ تَزْدَرِي نُطْقِى وَقَوْلِى 590 مِثْلَ اللَّالِن وَلَوْ صَادَفْتَهُ You belittle my admonition and advice Even though you find it to be like pearls. فَلَا تَنْظُرْ إِلى زَحْفٍ فَإِنِّيْ نَظَمْتُ قَصِيدَتِي بِالْاِرْتِجَالِ Do not seek any constrained statement in it For, I have composed my ode extempore.
