AL-QAŞIDAH-GUIDANCE FOR THOSE WHO REFLECT 587 وَفَاقَ السَّيْفَ نُطْقِى فِي الصِّقَالِ قَدِ اغْتَلْتُ الْمُكَفِّرَ كَالْغَزَالِ My words are more powerful than the sword in its lustre and sharpness. Indeed, I have vanquished who issued edicts of disbelief as a deer is hunted down. وَلَمْ يَزَلِ اللّثَامُ يُكَفِّرُونِي إلَى أَنْ جَاءَ نُصْرَةُ ذِي الْجَلَالِ The wretched continued in takfir [accusation of disbelief] Until the help of the God of Honour and Glory arrived. وَقَدْ جَادَلْتَنِي ظُلْمًا وَزُوْرًا وَجَاوَزْتَ الدِّيَانَةَ فِي الْجِدَالِ You have argued with me with injustice and falsehood And have exceeded the limits of honesty in your argumentation. وَلَوْ قَبْلَ الْجِدَالِ سَأَلْتَ مِنْن جُذِبْتَ إِلَى الْهُدَى قَبْلَ الْوَبَالِ If you had enquired from me, before entering into the squabble, You would be drawn to guidance instead of being destroyed. لَنَا فِي نُصْرَةِ الدِّيْنِ الْمَتِيْنِ مَسَاعِن فِي التَّرَقُ وَالْكَمَالِ In the service of the mighty Faith, Ours is the struggle that is gaining progress and perfection. نَهْجًا قَوِيْمًا خَالِقِى هَدَانِي وَرَبَّانِي بأنواع النَّوَالِ My Creator has established me on the right path And has nourished me with diverse types of favours. لَقَدْ أُعْطِيْتُ أَسْرَارَ السَّرَائِرِ وَقَدْ غَوَّصْتُ فِي بَحْرِ الْفَنَاءِ فَسَلْ إِنْ شِئْتَ مِنْ نَّوْعِ السُّوَّالِ Deep secrets have been bestowed upon me— If you like, ask me any type of question. فَعُدْتُ وَفِي يَدِى أَبْهَى اللَّالِن I dove deep into the ocean of self-annihilation; When I returned, I had precious pearls in my hand.
