28 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS nothing but disbelief. Anyone who utters a word that has no real basis in the Shariah-whether he is a recipient of revelation or a leading scholar―is playing into the hands of satanic beings. I also believe that our Prophet, Muhammad, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is Khātamul-Anbiyā' [the Seal of the Prophets] and that our Book, the Noble Quran, is a means of guidance. There is no prophet for us that we follow except Mustafa [the Chosen One-the Holy Prophet], and no book for us that we follow except the Furqan [Discrimination—the Holy Quran], the guardian over earlier scrip- tures. Furthermore, I believe that our Messenger is the Master of all the children of Adam and the Chief of all the Messengers, and that Allah sealed through him all the Prophets. I also believe that, after the Messenger of Allah, the Holy Quran has been safeguarded against any corruption by interpolators, and any errors of the misguided. Nothing can be abrogated from or added to, or subtracted from it after the Messenger of Allah, and no ilḥām [revelation] of the true recipients of revelations can ever oppose it. Everything that I understood of the 'difficult to comprehend' verses of the Quran, or that which was revealed to me by the Gracious Allah, I accepted on the condition that it was authentic, right, and clear, it being disclosed to me that it was absolutely true and in line with Islamic Law, free from doubt, ambiguity, misgiving, or obscurity. If, supposedly, the matter was determined otherwise, we would throw it away as a useless entity and mere spittle. We believe in all the meanings that Allah and the Noble Messenger had meant, even if we did not know them, or even if their true essence was not disclosed to us by the All-Knowing Allah. We have many Quranic texts, Signs, and clear arguments as a proof of their correctness, which we shall present at their appropriate time and place. We will rebut those whose hearts have become habitual in lying and whose pens have hurled complete fabrications. They do not peruse my books and do not ponder over my reply, nor do they reflect. Woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn!
