ADDRESS 29 In this book, we did not desire for the opponents anything but to rebut their suspicions and crush their allegations. But as far as the way of responding to abuse with abuse, of curse with curse, and force with force, this book is absolutely free of that and the matter is entrusted to Allah, the Lord of Heaven. O company of ulema! Do not interfere in the matters of Allah's knowledge and His mysteries, and dare not to say anything about which you have not been granted even an iota of knowledge. May the worldly life and its glamour not deceive you, and may the cry of a howler and its clamour not draw you into tribulations. I invite you in the name of the Gracious Allah to leave me alone for fighting against the enemies of Muṣṭafā and the Furqan and to help me by the restraint of your tongues. If I am truthful, Allah will show you my truth and my steadfastness. However, if I am an impostor, then Allah is sufficient for my elimination and destruction. So, make not the enemies rejoice over me and do not transgress, nor prolong this torture. Allah's knowledge is much more vast than your knowledge. He knows what is in my heart while you know not. If you do not refrain, then indeed you shall return to Allah where you shall be held accountable. AS FOR THE SECOND REASON that compelled me to put your mention together with that of the Imam of the Far and Near, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is that—O ye youthful Muslims and older believers!—know that with this arrangement I intended for the mercy of Allah and His compassion to descend upon you through the Khatamul-Anbiya', the Purest of the Chosen Ones. Therefore, bear witness that I am extending my praying hand to Allah for your sake and begging Him for your guidance. My Lord-O my Lord!-hear my prayers for my people and my entreaties for my brothers. I plead to You through Your Prophet, Khātamun-Nabiyyin [the Seal of the Prophets]—the intercessor whose intercession has already been granted for sinners.
