Her favours are not reserved exclusively for any one people against the others. This is the assumption of those who remain content with shal- low opinions and are unaware of the true reality of the situation. Look at the effects of her grace—how she has developed beneficial organi- zations such as literary societies and executive committees to run the affairs of cities, and how she embellished these societies with a consult- ing committee consisting of some wise and intellectual people. She has caused diverse rivers of knowledge to flow forth, opened many schools for students, granted financial support to the poor among them, and has helped them abundantly. O ye Muslims! if she continues to follow this policy, you should always remain grateful to her. Pray to Allah that He may preserve the dignity of this honourable Queen, help her against the cursed Russia, bring her among those who believe in Allah and His Prophet™, grant her the good of both the worlds, make her among those who are granted a share of both the worlds, for they are indeed blessed. the O ye Queen of India! May you be saved from being ruined, and may memory of every past calamity be forgotten to you. You have tried to the best of your capabilities to restore peace; you have granted great freedom, and have delivered the Muslims from a tormenting pain, bringing forth for them oysters wherein precious pearls reside. We have found peace of mind through you, the delight of our eyes, and the removal of suffering. How blessed you are- –if only you embrace Islam! May Allah grant you the best reward. May Allah grant you your heart's desires. The progeny of Muslims will never forget your favours, and your name will never be erased from Islamic literature. Time may pass, but the memory of your excellences will not cease. Be thou blessed-0 generous Queen!—this being a prayer from those who were oppressed. O honourable Queen! I pondered deeply over your excellences and find you an exceptionally wise woman. Your opinion sails through
