Know―O dear ones!—that this verse is such a surging ocean of secrets that no mind had ever encompassed it and no intellect amongst crea- tion had ever touched upon it. My Lord has disclosed to me the secrets of this verse, exclusively choosing me for this. Its detail is that Allah Almighty has surely pointed out in this particular verse that heaven contains influencing elements and the earth consists of influenced elements. So, the decree descends from heaven to earth, and the earth gleefully receives it without rejection. This indicates that all that is in the heavens, such as the sun, moon, stars, angels, the souls of the sacred from the Messengers, Prophets, Truthful and other believ- ers—exert their influences upon all that is on the earth to the extent required by the wisdom of the Holy Lord. Hence, the heaven turns towards the earth with innumerable kinds of descent and passages and the earth welcomes them via expansion and contraction by countless and immeasurable means. The outcome of this[ruju''return of rain'] and [as-sadi- opening of earth with herbage] produces things under the strata of the earth like silver, gold, iron, precious gems, and the like; as well as crops, trees, plants, fruits, springs, rivers, and everything that sprouts out of the earth; and camels, mules, horses, and every insect that crawls on the earth and every bird that flies in the air. Man is also the product of this process, and has been created in the best make, and has been granted superiority over every walking and crawling creature. This process also creates waḥy [revelation], Prophethood, Messengership, reason, wis- dom, decency, nobility, stupidity, ignorance, foolishness, meanness, and lack of modesty. One kind of this [] is the descent of the 1. By the cloud which gives rain after rain, and by the earth which opens out with herbage, it is surely a decisive word, and it is not a useless talk. Surely, they plan a plan, and I also plan a plan (Sūrah aṭ-Ṭāriq, 86:12–17). [Publisher]
