AT-TABLIGH- TO ELDERS OF INDIA, AFGHANISTAN, EGYPT & BEYOND 453 reason. Allah is All-Powerful, so He shall grant you such if you request this of Him wholeheartedly. Stand up in the wee hours of the night and perform ablutions. Then offer prayers tearfully, and humbly supplicate, sending blessings and salutations upon the Holy Prophetsas. Then seek forgiveness for your- selves and beg that the matter be disclosed to you. Do this consistently for forty days and despair not. Then you shall find guidance from Allah that will lead you towards the truth and you shall be delivered from the doubts as the righteous are delivered. What is the matter with you that you neither follow the way of the pious nor tread the path of the righteous? You love to disobey and ignorantly declare your brethren disbelievers. For this you will be seized and held accountable. Do you consider declaring someone a disbeliever to be a trivial affair, while in the sight of Allah it is grievous? What is the matter with you that you do not fear Allah and ponder not? O ye people-Repent! Repent!-lest the doors of repentance be closed and you be left waiting. O ye people! Refrain from the company of the so-called mystics who claim, 'Surely, we are Chishtīs and we are Qādirīs. ’¹ They come to you in the garb of sheep while they are actually ravening wolves. They are extremely fond of singing and music, yet turn away from the prac- tices of the peerless Prophet, and most of them are disobedient. They yearn for lithe girls and repel the illuminating Shariah. They have freed themselves from self-restraint and pursue their evil desires, grovelling upon their faces. They are completely devoid of the true knowledge of the Holy Quran, and their souls touch not its subtleties, yet they envi- sion themselves as comprehending the deepest meanings of the Holy Quran. When it is said to them, ‘Follow the Caller towards Allah, they say, 'We do not know who the Caller is and we, surely, are well-guided and can even lead others to guidance.
