ADDRESS 9 palpable proof of the message of our Lord, the undeniable evidence for the truthfulness of our Master, the stars of guidance, and the avenue to conviction. Every one of them was made to suffer in the cause of Allah, to endure hardships in what he was entrusted with, and was threatened with both sword and spearhead. Nevertheless, they slackened not, nor did they suffer humiliation—instead fulfilling their vow and preferring their Master over their mortal selves. They were such a spiritual ummah and nation who suffered afflictions for the sake of the most beloved friend of all friends. O ye people! Invoke blessings and peace on the Prophet, in whose footsteps mankind would be resurrected and drawn to the Benevolent, Ever-Merciful Lord. He delivered a great number of people from an arid, perilous, and tormenting desert to the gardens of peace and secu- rity. He emboldened the frightened souls, strengthened passionate res- olutions, and rekindled those lights that had been lost. He produced the most splendid pearls, rubies, and coral, and he established the fun- damental principles and refined reasoning. He delivered many a peo- ple from the shackles of kufr [disbelief], error, and rebellion. He made the obedient and desirous believers drink from the goblet of certainty, peace, and tranquillity and protected them from the paths of evil, dis- order, and loss, while guiding them towards all the paths of goodness, bliss, and beneficence. Among his many favours is that he apprised us of the tribulations of the Latter Days and then he gave us the glad tid- ings from the Beneficent Lord of security and His succour. O Allah! Send blessings and peace upon this chosen intercessor, the saviour of mankind, and help us to seek nourishment and draw benefit from the presence of this King. Through him save us from the evil of every hand outstretched with cruelty and from such ulema who strive to seek out the faults of their brethren while forgetting their own vices. Their tongues remain unchecked from abuse, cursing, spewing vile accusations, and uttering calumnies, but are restrained from bear- ing true witness, giving voice to truth, and establishing real proof.
