ADDRESS وَطُوبَى لِمَنْ سَنَّ وَسَارَ Revealed And glad tidings to he who adopts this way and follows it and earnestly strives in the ways of the Gracious God. 7 Peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Chief of His Messengers, Khatamul-Anbiya' [the Seal of the Prophets], the Leader of His Auliya' [Friends], the purest form of His light, and the essence of His brilliance the blessed immaculate Messenger and Prophet—who guided the common people to the right path and cured those who had become like cattle due to the disease afflicting their hearts; he who most eloquently and explicitly elucidated the injunctions of the Furqan [Discrimination, i. e. Holy Quran] for his followers; he caused the spring of his affirmations to gush forth like torrential rain and he brought the Book wherein lies nourishment for the hungry and pure sweet water for the thirsty. He delivered the embryos out of a threefold darkness: 1) the idolatry that casts one out of Paradise; 2) those deeds that cause one to burn in the Fire; 3) those vices that deteriorate human nature into the animal nature of beasts and serpents. He was the admonisher, the awakener who showed extreme com- passion towards mankind, and he removed drowsiness from their eyes and gave these weak fledglings the strength to flutter and fly. He guided the people to the straightest path and made their souls walk with stead- iness—their pace being neither too slow nor their stride being too wide. He made the Ummah an exalted people who excelled all other nations in brilliance as if they were the two shining luminaries—the sun and the moon. He drew them with his spiritual power so much so that they became more obedient to him than the shoes on his feet, irrespective of the land or arena of war. He perfected their souls and nourished them like trees to the point their fruit grew abundant and heavy, weighing down their branches.
