PREFACE مه فهم و نظر در پردہ پائے کبر پوشیدند چنان خواهند ایس خمرے کہ پاکاں جام قربت را ہمہ They have buried their understanding and vision behind the veil of pride; They are fond of this drink, just as the drink of n loved by the holy ones. nearness to God is خدا خود قصه شیطان بیان کر دست تا دانند که این نخوت کند ابلیس ہر اہل عبادت را God has Himself related the story of Satan, so that People might know that arrogance turns even a devout worshipper into Iblis. دے از بهر معنی پانی یا بند فرصت را بلفاظی بسر کردند عمر خود بلا حاصل They wasted their lives insisting upon the letter of the text, But they did not devote even a moment to finding its real meaning. گزاف و لاف شان در ظاہر شر عرت هم باطل که غافل از حقائق کے نکود اند شریعت را Their bragging about the outward knowledge of the Shariah is also wrong; For, how can he know the Shariah who is ignorant of the true facts. مسیح ناصری را تا قیامت زنده می فهمند مگر مدفون یثرب را نداد ند ایس فضیلت را They believe that the Messiah (as) of Nazareth will live till the Day of Judgment, But they did not accord this honour to the one buried in Yathrib [Madinah]. پسندیدند در شان شه خلق این مذلت را زبوئے نافہ عرفاں چو محروم ازل بودند Being eternally deprived of the fragrance of the musk of knowledge, They were content with this disgrace upon the Sovereign of all mankind. may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 75
