I have been established upon these principles by none other than the Lord who sends His light when darkness prevails, who dis- closes a remedy when illness intensifies, and who saves His distressed servants. There is no doubt that tribulations have spread across the earth; smoke has risen to the sky; and cor- rupting, destructive winds have blown from every direction to the farthest points. If I were to describe in detail all these trib- ulations, I would have to write several volumes, and I would cause many men and women to weep and tremble the feet of those who hearken. You are aware that لِكُلِّ دَاءٍ دَوَاءً for every ailment there is a medicine] and for every darkness a light. So my Lord decided to illuminate the world after it had been enveloped by darkness—and Allah does what He pleases. O learned ones! Do you deny this? And yet, I do not strut around proudly, as though I were royalty; rather, I walk in rags like the poor, and I do not drag about my garments out of arrogance. I thank the Queen and her officials for their favours upon us in the days of hardship. I pray for her earnestly and truly, and give her the gift of prayer. Although I do not agree with her religion, and believe that she is among those who have erred and gone astray, I invite her with gentle words to Islam, so that she can partake in its eternal blessings. I am sur- prised that, despite her wisdom and excellent understanding of the workings of the world, she worships a humble servant of God and believes him to be the Lord of all the worlds. Holy is Allah! He has no partner! Had He desired, He would have created thousands just like Jesus, or even greater and better than him, for it is He who creates. Who knows His 1.
