QAŞĪDAH ON THE SIGN AND ITS DENIERS 471 A Sign appeared which supports the Truthful, And the doubts of the enemies remain no more. A Champion appeared who engages every enemy in battle, And strikes with swords and spears. Thus, there is no reasonable excuse for the denier, There is only rationalising dishonestly like the thief who steals in small amounts. This is a day of felicitations and victory, And of rescuing mankind from sin. When my people became incapable of answering, They turned towards nonsense, like a cloud starved of rainwater. They said that this was a Sign for the descendants of Husain, And they hope the Imam will be raised from among them.
