AN ODE My life is sacrificed for you, O Best of Creation! I saw the light of your prophecy in the darkness. I saw a heavenly Sign that satiates thirst and quenches it, And heals the heedless of their illness. I saw the sun and the moon as you indicated; Truly, they were both eclipsed to illuminate mankind. All praise be to Allah that they were both eclipsed; They were my partners in the trials of the days of fasting. Help came to us after three hundred, And after the passing of a thousand years.
