QAŞĪDAH ON THE MAHDI'S ADVENT Today is the day wherein my truth has been made apparent; Every liar and evildoer has perished. On this day, every one possessed of sight is crying, Calling to mind the mercy of the Gracious God, And affirming the truthfulness of the light of our Prophet's news, And glorifying the Beneficent for His gifts. On this day, every one who has pledged allegiance and possesses spiritual insight, Has increased greatly in his faith. On this day, whoever opposed me observed his own loss; His seat in the Fire came into view. On this day, everyone who had accepted me and was near to me— Their hearts became closer to my heart. The proof of my truthfulness has become as clear as the sun, Or in its glory is like those gallant horses of the noblest breed. 387
