A QAŞĪDAH ON THE CHRISTIANIZED AND THEIR VICE We complain to the Gracious God about the evil of their era; And we seek refuge with the Holy God from their Satan. Can a trustworthy person be found among their people? Or, have you witnessed truth in their countries? They worship a man like themselves; They spread debauchery throughout their countries. They connive and conspire out of lustful desire; Falsehood is like fruit on the branches of their trees. The eye sheds tears upon seeing their condition; The intellect grieves over their delirium. Their hearts contrive machination after machination; Their tongues speak one lie after another. 197
