A QAŞIDAH ON GOOD VERSUS EVIL Islam was forsaken out of people's ignorance; And so, that rocky land became bereft of life-giving rain. Caravans of their women stirred these people's hearts; So they willingly bore their adversities. Companies of blind people are defiling our land; Their misfortunes befall us suddenly like a wolf that attacks at dawn. Our eyes are shedding tears, but these tears are but a harbinger of grace; Grace that brings light at the end of a dark night. None can safeguard against the riders who bring with them affliction, Save the hands of the Master who is the All-Powerful and the Greatest. The Protector shall not let His servants go to waste; So rejoice and do not despair in times of trouble. 191
