A QAŞIDAH ON GOOD VERSUS EVIL Among them is one who is a wicked and corrupt spoiler who promotes indecency; I was informed of him, though alas I wish I had never learned of his existence. He is a satan who vilifies our Prophet, the Best of Creation; He is wicked-not an erudite scholar. O devil of the desert of wrongdoing and evil inclination! You utter sheer nonsense without divine insight. You have torn apart the hearts of all Muslims; O fool, how many swords and daggers do you possess! We have borne the injuries caused by you with great patience, But our soul cries out vehemently as it could no longer bear it. We are witnessing tribulations that melt our hearts; We are seeing images that terrify those who see it. 187
