REFUTING OBJECTIONS Quran refers to the Day of Judgement, and every trustworthy expert knows this. Observe how He has clearly shown that this is an event from the events of the Day of Judgement. Then, see how those in whose hearts is a disease and who do not fear Allah and who are not among the God-fearing, make false statements. In sum- mary, this verse does not support the allegation of this slanderer; rather, it tears apart his allegation and passes a sentence against him thereby, and the verse serves to place him among the liars. He claims that Jesus is a god and the son of God; he fur- ther states that ar-Rūh is Allah and they are one and the same. However, the verse makes it clear that this is all a lie on his part. It also clarifies that the Rūh mentioned here is a humble servant under the dominion and decree of Allah; he has no choice in the matter concerning himself and he is but one of the obedient. Furthermore, he does not possess the ability to intercede without the permission of Allah, because in this verse Allah the Almighty has said: يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَئِكَةُ صَفَا لَا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ الآمَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَنُ وَ قَالَ صَوَابًا 10 يوم يقوم ا In the verse, عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُودًا 2 155 it is indicated that Allah the Exalted will not bestow this exalted station upon anyone except His Prophet and greatest friend, 1. On the day when the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they shall not speak, except he whom the Gracious God will permit and who will speak only what is right (Sūrah an-Naba', 78:39).
