REFUTING OBJECTIONS hide that which our Lord has made manifest. You cannot harm one whom Allah protects—and He is the Best of Guardians. So turn away from this, and occupy yourself in the merriment and harvests of your world. Drink morning and evening and delight in the carcass of this world, but do not interfere in mat- ters beyond your capacity. Be not wrathful, nor burn with rage, for Allah's loathing is greater than your loathing, and His fire burns the oppressors. It is surprising that the leading Christian priests have been deceived by you, and have yet to learn the truth about you, and have failed to uncover your secret, expose your claims, and recognize your true colours. Like great deceivers, you have ensnared them completely. It is a pity for them that they are wasting their wealth on the likes of you. Why, after painful experiences, do they not become alert, and how is it that they do not recognize liars? As for your claim that the Christian priests of this era are not the promised Dajjal [Antichrist], this is your greatest deception. Since you asked me for proof of this, know that this is not my declaration but that of the earlier Messiah. Accordingly, read Chapter 13 of the Gospel of Luke, verses 24 to 30. There you will find what I have said and more-O enemy of the pure ones!—and that is the following: Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, 105
