REFUTING OBJECTIONS all of the angels and all creation. These are the assertions given by certain ulama. But the author of al-Insānul-Kāmil [The Perfect Man], 'Abdul-Karim,¹ who claims to be a Sufi, took the matter to the extreme. He said that the Trinity is true in one sense and there is no harm in it; and that Jesus is such and such; and he even suggested that Jesus was not a creation [of God]. Then, there are those among them who transgressed in their lies and said, 'In the name of Allah the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. In this way they helped and supported this falsehood. In the beginning, the lie was small. Then, those who came after the [first] liar added another lie to his lie, until the tower of falsehood became soaring, and the son of an old woman was made into the son of God. After this, he was made into the Lord of all the worlds. Verily, the curse of Allah is upon the liars! Jesus was but a Prophet of Allah, like other Prophets, and a servant of the shariah of that sinless Prophet for whom God forbade all wet nurses until he was taken to the breast of his own mother, and whose Lord spoke to him upon Mount Sinai, and made him among the beloved. This was Moses, the man of God, whom Allah indicates in His Book to be alive. So He made it incumbent upon us to believe that he is alive in heaven, did not die, and is not among the dead. 93 1.
