168 FIRST GRAIN OF SAND Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih II about his extreme destitution. Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih II would write him letters with his own hand. When I met him, he was very happy to see me and said that God Almighty brought me this route [through Tehran] for his sake, so that I could see his state of destitution and inform our headquarters. He told me that he would often hear the Promised Messiah as say in Persian: خدا داری چه غم داری If you have God with you, what are you sad about? He was extremely impressed to hear what I had experienced over the past two years, but I explained to him that being in prison, I had no choice but to endure the harsh treatment they inflicted on me. On the other hand, he had willingly endured this struggle and such hardships for the sake of Allah alone, which will assuredly be very well accepted by Allah Almighty and earn His pleasure. The next day, I went with Shahzadah Abdul Majid to the embassy and met with the Senior Ambassador, at which time I showed him the visa document I had received from the Russian government. Since the Ambassador already knew that Shahzadah Abdul Majid was a preacher of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community living here, he spoke with him privately to ask whether he can confirm if I was indeed also a preacher of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who had gone to the USSR. He was concerned if the Soviet government had sent me as a spy into Iran.
