I told him I had nothing to eat and requested some allowance to cover such expenses over the next few days. He gave me two Tomans [20 Iranian Rials]. Then he called me back two days later and told me that the Senior Ambassador has ordered that I come to Tehran to meet him and arranged for me to get a ride in a car heading to Tehran. Upon my request, he gave me a small allowance for meals and told me whatever expense is spent on me will be taken back from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. I took the car ride to Tehran, which was quite far away, and arrived the next day. Tehran is the Capital of Iran. With extreme sincerity, he traveled to Iran at his own expense and soon ran out of money. He had no property as a source of income and was destitute, to the point where he had to sell his clothes to get by. When I met him, he had a tiny bed to sleep on and a traditional rug.
