وقر مُوَقَّتْ : Determined, defined or limited as to time or as to its extreme limit, extent or amount وَقْتٌ مَوْقُوْتُ : A determined, defined or limited time or as to its extreme limit, extent or amount. إِنَّ الصَّلوةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَابًا مَّوْقُوْتًا : Verily Prayer is enjoined on the believers to be performed at fixed hours (4:104). وقد The : تَوَقَّدَتْ and اِسْتَوْقَدَتْ and وَقَدَتِ النَّارُ وُقُوْدٌ inf. noun يَقِدُ aor وَقَدَ وَقَذَ fire burned, burned brightly or fiercely; the fire blazed or flamed. تَوَقَّدَ قَلْبُهُ : His heart became excited with ardour. أَوْقَدَ النَّارَ and اِسْتَوْقَدَهَا and وَقَدَهَا : he lighted or kindled the fire; he made it to burn fiercely or the blaze. كُلَّمَا أَوْقَدُوْا نَارًا لِلْحَرْبِ : Whenever they kindled the fire of war )5:65( كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي اسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا : Like the case of one who kindled a fire )2:18( وَقُوْدٌ : Fire-wood but so called when kindled; any fuel; anything with which fire is kindled . هُمْ وَقُوْدُ النَّارِ : They are the fuel of the Fire )3:11( مُرْقَدَةٌ )feminine gen. pass part from نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوْقَدَةُ أَوْقَدَ : It is Allah's kindled fire (104:7). ]aor. يَقِذُ inf. noun وَقَذَهُ وَقْذُ : He beat him violently; he beat him until he became at the point of death; he beat him until he died; he prostrated him. وَقَذَ الشَّاةَ : He beat the ewe to death with pieces of wood. مَوْقُوْدَةٌ : An ewe or she-goat beaten to death, or killed with pieces of wood or staff or stick or with blunt stones (5:4). و وَقَرَ aor. يَقِرُ inf. noun وَقَرَ اللهُ أُذْنَهُ وَقْرًا : God made his ear heavy or dull of hearing, or deaf. وَقَرَتْ أُذْنِي عَنْهُ : My ear was dull of hearing or deaf to him. وَقَرَ )aor. يَقِرُ inf. noun وَقَارٌ( : He or it was or became still, motionless; he rested; he was or became grave, steady, sedate; he sat with وَقَارٌ i. e. gravity. قَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ : And be ye grave in your houses or sit or stay ye with gravity or dignity in your houses )33:34( فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقُرًا : In their ears is heaviness or deafness )6:26( وَقَرَهُ )inf. noun تَوْقِيْرٌ( : He held or reckoned him with honour, reverence, veneration; he . . . . . did not hold him in light estimation. تُوَقِّرُوْهُ وَتُسَبِّحُوْهُ : That you may honour him (the Prophet) and glorify Him (God) (48:10). 832
