وقت وقب promise, covenant, compact أَوْفُوْا بِالْعُقُوْدِ : Fulfil the compacts )5:2( يُوْفُوْنَ بِالنَّذْرِ : They fulfil their vows )768( وفي : He fulfilled, carried out fully and completely. إِبْرَاهِيمَ الَّذِيْ وَفَّى : Abraham who fulfilled or carried out fully (all Divine commandments( )53:38( فَيُوَفِّيْهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ : He (God) will give them their full rewards )3:58( اَوْ : Fuller or fullest الْجَزَاءَ الْأَوْفى : Fullest rewards )53:42( مُوْفُوْنَ )act part. in plural number from الْمُوْفُوْنَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ أَوْفِى : Those who fulfill their promises )2:178(. تَوَفَّاهُ اللهُ : God caused his death. الَّذِيْنَ تَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلائِكَةُ : Those whom the angels cause to die )498( فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي : When Thou didst cause me to die (5:118). وَقَبَ ]aor. يَقِبُ inf. noun وَقَبَ الطَّلامُ وَقْبًا : The darkness overspread. وَقَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ : The sun set. وَقَبَ الْقَمَرُ : The moon was eclipsed; وَقَبَ الرَّجُلُ : The eyes of the man sank. مِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ : From the evil of darkness when it overspreads (113:4). وَقَتَ aor. يَقِتُ inf. noun وَقْتٌ[ and وَقَتَ الْأَمْرَ ، وَقَّتَ : He appointed a time in which the affair should be done; he assigned or appointed for the affair a particular time, or he assigned or appointed a time for doing a thing. إِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِتَتْ or وُقِّتَتْ : When the Messengers are made to appear at the appointed time )77:12( وَقْتُ : A time; space or measure of time for any affair; a season; a period fixed; a space or measure of local extension. لا يُجَلِّيْهَا لِوَقْتِهَا : None can manifest it at its time )7:188( مِيقَاتُ is synonymous with وَقْتُ . According to some وَقْتُ having an absolute signification and مِبْقَاتُ signifying a time appointed for the performance of some action. اَرْقَاتُ is plural of وَقْتُ and مَوَاقِيْتُ that of فَتَمَّ مِيْقَاتُ رَبِّهِ مِيْقَاتُ : Thus the period appointed by his Lord was completed )7:143( وَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُوسَى لِمِيْقَاتِنَا : When Moses came at Our appointed time )7:144( قُلْ هِيَ مَوَاقِيْتُ لِلنَّاسِ : Say they are means for measuring time for the people (2:190). مِیْقَاتُ also means a place in which a certain action is appointed to be performed. الْهِلَالُ مِيْقَاتُ الشَّهْرِ : The crescent is that which determines the commencement of the month مِيقَاتُ الْحَقِّ : The place where the pilgrims enter upon the state of مَوْقُوْتُ إِحْرَامٌ or 831
