وجف وجب compact; a contract; a covenant; an agreement; a treaty; an engagement; a bond an obligation حِتَّى تُؤْتُوْنَ مَوْثِقًا مِّنَ اللهِ : Until you give me a solemn promise in the name of Allah (12:67). وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِّيْثَاقًا غَلِيْظًا : And We took from them a firm covenant (4:155). وَجَبَ ]aor. يَجِبُ inf. noun وَجَبَ الْحَائِطُ وُجُوْبًا : The wall fell down. وَجَبَ الرَّجُلُ : The man fell down and died. وَجَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ : The sun set. فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوْبُهَا : And when they fall down (dead) on their sides (22:37). وَجَدَ and وَجِدَ ]aor. يَجِدُ inf. noun وَجْدًا and وُجْدًا and وِجْدَانًا[ : He found; he got وَجْدٌ and وِجْدٌ and وُجْدٌ all means the same thing: Ampleness of means; capacity; ability; competence; richness or wealth. هذَا مِنْ وَجْدِى : It is within my capacity. وَجَدَ : He was or became rich. سَكَنْتُمْ مِّنْ وُجْدِكُمْ : Dwell them according to the best of your means )657( وَجَدَ بِهَا : He loved her passionately. وَجَدَ عِنْدَهَا رِزْقًا : He found with her provisions )3:38( إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا : We found him steadfast (38:45) (found in the sense of knew by experience(. وَجَدَهُ : He lighted on it; he attained it; he discovered it; he perceived it; he experienced it; he became sensible of it. فَهَلْ وَجَدْتُّمْ مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا : Have you too found what your Lord promised you to be true (7:45). لک وَجَسَ ]aor. يَجِسُ inf. noun وَجْسٌ[ : He was frightened at some sound or other thing that fell in his mind or ear. وَجَسَ الشَّيْءَ : The thing was unperceived or hardly perceived by the eye or ear or mind; the thing was hidden or concealed, was low, faint, gentle or soft. أَوْجَسَ : He conceived a thing in mind. فَأَوْجَسَ فِي نَفْسِهِ خِيْفَةً : He conceived in his mind a fear )2068( أَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيْفَةً : He conceived a fear of them (11:71). وَجَفَ ]aor. يَجِفُ inf. noun وَجَفَ الشَّيْءُ وَجْفًا : The thing was in a state of commotion. وَجَفَ الْقَلْبُ : The heart became captivated, was trembling. وَجَفَ الْفَرَسُ : The horse ran fast and with leaps. أَوْجَفَ is transitive from أَوْجَفَ الْفَرَسُ وَجْفٌ : He made the horse run fast. فَمَا أَوْجَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْلٍ : You urged neither horse nor camel for that)59:7( قُلُوْبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَّاجِفَةٌ :On that day hearts will tremble 817
