وتر house. وَتِيْنٌ : Life-artery; jugular vein )69:47(. وثق وَتَرَ وَتَدَ ]aor. يَتِرُ inf. noun وَتَرَهُ وَتْرٌ and أَوْتَرَهُ : He made it a number( sole; one and no more; he made it to be an odd number. وَتَرَهُ مَالَهُ : He made him to suffer loss in respect of his property. وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ : By the Even and the Odd )894( وَتَرَهُ حَقَّه : He made him to suffer loss or detriment in respect of his right; he abridged him or deprived or defrauded him of it wholly or partially. وَلَنْ يَّتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ : He (God) will not deprive you of the reward of your actions )47:36( وَاتَرَ الْخَبَرَ : He made the tidings to follow one part after another or according to As, with a small space between every two portions thereof. . تَوَاتَرَ : It was consecutive or was so with intervals مُتَوَاتِرٌ : Consecutive, but with small intervals thus differing from جَاءُ وْا تَتْرَى مُتَتَابع : They came following one another, one after another, or interruptedly. ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرًا : Then We sent Our Messengers one after another or at intervals, or making a long time to intervene between every two )23:45( وَتْرٌ and وِتْرٌ : Single sole; only; one and no more; odd. وَتِيْرَةٌ : A way, course, mode or manner of acting or conduct. ]aor. يَتِدُ inf. noun وَتَدَ وَتْدًا : )both intransitive and transitive[ : He fixed a wooden peg or stake in the ground or in a wall. وَتَدَ فِي بَيْتِهِ : He remained fixed in his house. أَوْتَادٌ : Tent-pegs; poles, wooden nails; stakes. أَوْتَادُ الْاَرْضِ signifies the mountain. أَوْتَادُ الْبِلادِ : The chief men of the towns أَوْتَادُ الْفَمِ : The teeth. ذُو الْأَوْتَادِ : Lord of large armies or stakes or firmly established dominions (38:13). وَثَقَ ]aor. يَشِقُ and وَثِقَ aor. يَشِقُ inf. noun مَوْتِقًا[ : It was or became firm, stable, fast or strong. وَشِقَ : He trusted or confided in him. أَوْثَقَهُ : He made it firm, stable, fast or strong; he bound or tied him or it firmly or strongly in a bond. وِثَاقٌ or وَثَاقٌ : Ties strong rope; fetter; chain. وثَاقٌ : Compact; alliance; covenant; captivity. فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ : Bind fast the fetters )47:5( عُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَى : Firm and strong handle )2:257( مِيْثَاقَهُ الَّذِي وَاتَقَكُمْ به : The covenant which He made with you )58( مَوْثِقٌ وَ مِيثَاقُ : A 816 لک
