و و وَأَدَ وَأَلَ وتن means also; then; while, during; at the same time; together; with; but; however. It is also syn. with رُبَّ i. e. frequently; sometimes; perhaps. It is also a particle of swearing meaning "by" or "I swear" or "I cite as a witness". In the sense of "by", "I swear", "I cite or call as witness" the particle has been used in 37:2; 50:2; 68:2; 77:2; 91:2 among others. ]aor. وَأَدَ الْبَنْتَ [يَئِدُ : He buried his daughter alive in the grave and put a load of earth upon her. تَوَأَدَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْاَرْضُ : The earth hid or concealed him and as it were removed him. وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُ دَةُ سُئِلَتْ : And when the female infant buried alive is questioned about (81:9). ]aor يَئِلُ inf. noun وَأَلَ مِنْ كَذَا وِثَالاً : He sought refuge from it. وَأَلَ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ : He hastened towards the place. وَأَلَ فُلانًا : He took him as a refuge. وَأَلَ إِلَى اللَّهِ : He turned to God. مَوْلاً : Refuge )18:59(. = وَبَرَ aor. يَبْرُ inf. noun وَبَرٌ[ : A camel had much fur or soft hair. وَبَرٌ The fur or soft hair of the camel and of the hare or rabbit and the like. أَهْلُ الْوَبَرِ : The people of the deserts or rather the people of the tents. أَوْبَارٌ )plural(. وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَ أَوْبَارِهَا : And from their wool and furs (16:81). وَبَقَ ]aor. يَقُ inf. noun وَبْقًا[ : He was ruined; he perished. أَوْبَقَهُ : It ruined or destroyed him; it humiliated or disgraced him; he put him in prison. أَوْ يُرْبِقْهُنَّ : Or He can destroy them )42:35( مَوْبِقٌ : A barrier; prison; a place of destruction or a dangerous place. وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ مَّوْبِقًا : And We shall place a barrier between them (18:53). 28 وَبَلَ ]aor. يَبِلُ inf. non وَبَلَ فُلانًا بِالْعَصَا [وَبْلاً : He beat such a one continuously. وَبَلَتِ السَّمَاءُ : The rain fell in torrents. وَابِلٌ : Heavy or violent rain. فَأَصَابَهَا وَابِلٌ : Heavy rain falls on in it )2:266(. وبَالٌ : Damages vexation; sin; punishment; an evil result. لِيَذُوْقَ وَبَالَ أَمْرِهِ : So that he may taste the penalty of his deed )5:96(. وَبِيَّلٌ : terrible violent dangerous أَخْذَا وَبِيلاً : terrible seizing )73:17(. وَتَنَ ]aor. يَتِنُ inf. noun وَتَنَ الْمَاءُ وُتُوْنًا : the water continued to flow and did not cease. وَتَنَ بِالْمَكَانِ : He continued to stay in the 815
