هد هجر for it (the Holy Qur'an) (17:80). هَجَرَ aor. يَهْجُرُ inf. noun هَجْرٌ[ : He cut him off from friendly or loving intercourse; he forsook or abandoned him; he ceased to speak to him or to associate with him. وَاهْجُرُوْهُنَّ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ : And leave them alone in (their) beds )4:35( وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا : And part with them in a decent manner )73:11( وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ : And uncleanliness do thou shun )74:6( هَجَرَ فِى الصَّوْمِ : He abstained from sexual intercourse in fasting. هَجَرَ فِي كَلامِ : He talked nonsense, irrationally or foolishly or deliriously and confusedly. هَجَرَ بِهِ : He talked foolishly أَهْجَرَ به : He mocked or scoffed or ridiculed him and said respecting him what was bad. بِهِ سَمِرًا تَهْجُرُوْنَ : Big with pride talking nonsense by night about it (268) : He went forth from the desert to the towns. (This is the primary acceptation with the Arabs); he left his place of abode emigrating to another; he emigrated from one land, town, district, country to another. هَاجَرُوْا وَجَاهَدُوْا فِي سَبِيْلِ الله : They left their homes and strove for the cause of Allah (8:76). مُهَاجِرٌ : One who leaves his land, town etc. for another (act. part. (. إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَى رَبِّي : I am going or taking refuge with my Lord And who goes forth from : وَمَنْ يَخْرُجْ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى اللَّهِ . 29:27) his home, emigrating in the cause of Allah )4:10( مُهَاجِرِينَ )plural): Refugees )19:00( مُهَاجِرَاتٍ : Feminine of مُهَاجِرِينَ )10:11( مَهْجُورٌ )pass. part. ): Forsaken or abandoned; talk or language uttered foolishly. إِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوْا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ مَهْجُوْرًا : My people indeed treated this Qur'an as a thing to be discarded; verily, my people have made this Qur'an a thing of which they have said what is not true (because when a person talks foolishly or irrationally, he says what is not true) (25:31). هَجَعَ ]aor. يَهْجَعُ inf. noun هُجُوعًا[ : He slept or he slept in the night. كَانُوْا قَلِيْلًا مِّنَ الَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُوْنَ : They used to sleep but a little of the night (51:18). They say that هُجُودٌ is sleeping in the day and هُجُوعٌ is sleep in the night. هد ]aor. يَهُدُّ inf. noun هَدَّ الْبَنَاءَ هَدًا : He demolished, pulled down the building with a loud crash; he weakened and broke the 802
