قلب )2:28( قَاعِدَةٌ also is feminine of قَاعِدٌ : A woman who sits. قَوَاعِدُ plural of قَاعِدَةٌ which means an old woman or a woman who has ceased to bear children or to have menstrual discharge and to have a husband. وَالْقَوَاعِدُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ : As to elderly women )24:61(. قَعِيْدٌ : A companion in sitting; a preserver; a keeper; a guardian; a watcher عَنِ الْيَمِيْنِ وَ عَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيْدٌ : One sitting on the right and one on the left (50:18). ]aor. يَقْعُرُ inf. noun قَعُرَ الْبِئْرُ قَعَارَةٌ : The well was deep. قَعَرَ الْبِئْرَ )inf. noun قَعْرٌ( : He descended the well until he reached the bottom of it. اِنْقَعَرَتِ الشَّجَرَةُ : The tree became uprooted and fell : كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنْقَعِرٍ . Uprooted : مُنْقَعِرٌ . He died : اِنْقَعَرَ . prostrate قعر قَعُرَ As though they were the trunks of uprooted palm-trees (54:21). قَفَلَ ]aor. يَقْفُلُ and يَقْفِلُ inf. noun قَفْلاً and قُفُولًاً[ : He returned from the journey . قَفَلَ الطَّعَامَ : He collected and gathered the food. أَقْفَلَ الْبَابَ : He locked the door. أَقْفَلَ الْقَوْمَ عَلَى الْأَمْرِ : He collected the people on the affair. قُفْلٌ : A lock )أَقْفَالْ plural( أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوْبِ أَقْفَالُهَا : Is it قَفَا that on the hearts are their locks (47:25)? ]aor. يَقْفُوْ inf noun قَفَا الرَّجُلَ قُفْوًا : He beat or struck the man on the back of his neck; he accused him of sin and vice. قَفَا أَثَرَهُ : He followed his track وَلا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ : And follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge )17:37( قَفَا اللَّهُ أَثَرَهُ : God obliterated his trace. اِقْتَفَى الشَّيْءَ : He chose the thing. قَفْى فُلانًا زَيْدًا : وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ بِالرُّسُلِ He caused such a one to follow Zaid : اَوْ بِزَيْدٍ And We caused after him Messengers to follow (2:88). قَلَبَ aor. يَقْلِبُ inf. noun قَلَبَهُ . قَلْبٌ and قَلْبَهُ : He inverted it he turned it over or upside down. قَلَبَهُ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ : He turned him from his manner, way or course. قَلْبَه : A man or disease attacked or hit his heart. قُلِبَ : He was attacked by pain in his heart. وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُوْنَ : And to Him will you be turned back )29:22( قَلَبَهُ : He hit his heart. It (a disease) affected or attacked his heart. قَلَبَ النَّخْلَةَ : He plucked out the heart of the palm-tree. قَلَبْتَهُ بِيَدِى : I turned it over and over with my hand. قَلَّبْتُهُ فِي الْأَمْرِ : I employed him in the management of the affair قَلْبُوا لَكَ الْأَمُورَ : They mediated or devised in relation to thee, viles, artifices, plots or stratagems; 701 لک
