قبل و aor. يَقْبَلُ inf. noun قَبُوْلٌ and قَبِلَ الشَّيْءِ قُبُوْلٌ : He took or accepted or received the thing. قَبلَ الْكَلامَ : He corroborated or testified to the truth of the speech or accepted it as such. هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ : He (God) accepts repentance )9:104( لا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ : Nor any ransom shall be accepted from it )2:124( قَبَلَ الْمَكَانَ : He came to or approached the place facing it. عَامٌ قَابِلٌ : The coming or next year (act. part. . . قَبَّلَه: He kissed him or it. تَقَبَّلَهُ : He took accepted or received it. فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا : So her Lord accepted her with a gracious acceptance )3:38( تَقَبَّلَ الْعَمَلَ : He undertook the work by contract. تَقَبَّلَ اللهُ دُعَاءَهُ : God heard or accepted his prayers. وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ : And Thou accept my prayer )14:41( تَقَبَّلَ أَبَاهُ : He resembled his father تَقَبَّلَهُ السَّعَادَةُ : Good fortune or good luck appeared or became manifest in him. اِسْتَقْبَلَ الشَّيْءَ : He faced the thing or turned his face towards it. اِسْتَقْبَلَ الرَّجُلُ : He went to meet him; he encountered him. اِسْتَقْبَلَهُ : He saw it before him; or he saw or knew it before-hand; he looked forward to it; he anticipated it. اِسْتَقْبَلَهُ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ : He encountered him with what he hated. مُسْتَقْبِلُ : )act. part. ): coming or one who comes. مُسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ : Coming towards their valleys )46:25( أَقْبَلَ : He came facing; he came forward; came on advanced فَأَقْبَلَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ : His wife came )51:30( أَقْبَلْتُ قِبَلَكَ : I came or advanced towards thee. أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِ : He advanced or approached towards him; he presented a favourable aspect to him. وَ أَقْبَلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ : And they turned towards them; they advanced towards them (12:72). فَأَقْبَلُوْا إِلَيْهِ يَزِقُوْنَ : They came towards him hastening )37:95( أَقْبَلَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ : He set about or commenced doing a thing. أَقْبَلَ بَعْدَ هُزَالٍ : He regained health. قِبَلٌ : Side; direction towards. قِبَلَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ : Towards the east and west )2:178( قِبَلُ شَيْءٍ : What is next to a thing. هَذَا الْأَمْرُ مِنْ قِبْلِهِ : This thing is from him. لَقِيْتُهُ قِبَلاً : I met him face to face; in front of him. مِنْ قِبَلِهِ الْعَذَابُ : The punishment facing him or in front of him (57:14) also means, presence; power or authority . مَالِي بِهِ قِبَلٌ : I have no power against him. لا قِبَلَ لَهُمْ بِهَا : Against which they will have no power )27:38( لِي قِبَلَهُ دَيْنٌ : He owes me a debt. قِبْلَةٌ : The Ka'aba diversion or the direction to which Muslims face when saying 677 قبل قَبِلَ
