ضر ضحا Wondering at her words )27:20( رَأْيٌّ صَاحِفٌ : Perspicuous judgement. ضَاحِفٌ is also applied to a menstruating woman )without ( صَاحِكَةٌ )feminine of ضَاحِفٌ. Its plural is ضَوَاحِكُ ضَاحِكَةٌ مَّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ : Laughing, joyous )80:40( أَضْحُوْكَةٌ : Laughing-stock. ضَحًا ]aor. يَضْحُوْ inf. noun ضَحْرٌ etc. [ ضَحَا الرَّجُلُ : The man went out in the sun. ضَحَا الشَّيْءُ أَوِ الرَّجُلُ : The thing or man was smitten by the sun. لا تَظْمُوا فِيْهَا وَ لَا تَضْحَى Thou wilt not thirst therein, Nor wilt Thou be exposed to the sun or suffer the heat of the sun. )20:10( ضَحَا الطَّرِيقُ : The way became apparent. ضَحًا ظِلَّهُ : He died. شَجَرَةٌ صَاحِيَةُ الظَّلِّ : Tree which has no shade ضُحَى : Early part of the forenoon after sunrise or when it is somewhat high; time when the sun is risen spear high. ضَحْرَةٌ is used for the light when the sun is just out and ضحاء for the light between noon and when the sun begins to decline; brightness of the sun; sun; والضَّحَى : By the brightness of the sun; by the morning hours. آن يُحْشَرَ النَّاسُ ضُحَى : That the people be assembled when the sun is risen high )20:00( ضُحَى also means perspicacity . مَالِكَلامِهِ ضُحَى : There is no perspicacity in his speech يَوْمُ الْأَضْحَى : The tenth day of the month of Dhul Hajj when animals are slaughtered. ]aor. يَضُدُّ inf. noun صَدَّ فُلانٌ فِي الْخُصُوْمَةِ ضَدُّ : He overcame such a one in litigation, altercation or contention. ضَدَّهُ عَنْهُ : He hindered him or averted him from it by gentle means. ضِةٌ : The contrary or opposite of a thing )الصِّدُّ ضِدُّ شَيْءٍ : Adversary; the like or equal. ضِدُّ is sometimes a plural and sometimes denotes a collective body. يَكُوْنُوْنَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا : They will become their adversaries or helpers against them )1983( لَقِيَ الْقَوْمُ أَضْدَادَهُمْ : The people met their equals or their enemies or adversaries.
