ضحک ضأن ضَأَنَ ]aor. يَضْأَنُ inf. noun ضَأَنْتُ الضَّأْنَ : [ ضَرْنٌ I set apart the sheep from the goats. الضَّانُ is the plural of الضَّائِنُ : The word is applied to all animals of the class of غَسَمٌ which covers both sheep, and goats, specially sheep, such as have wool; opposite of مَاعِزٌ a goat (Plural رَجُلٌ ضَائِنٌ (6:144) (مَعْزٌ : Aman as tender as a lamb. ضَبَحَ ]aor. يَضْبَحُ inf. noun صَبَحَتِ الْخَيْلُ فِي عَدْوِهَا ضَبْحٌ : The horses breathed pantingly or hard with a sound from the chest; or breathed hard when running or fatigued. It also signifies, the horses neighed. صَبَحَ )inf. noun صَبَاحٌ said of the foxthe hare and of the owl: It uttered a cry or sound. It also means, he cried out and entered into an altercation for a person who had given him money . وَالْعَدِيتِ ضَبْحًا : By the snorting chargers )100:2(. ضَجَعَ ]aor. يَضْجَعُ inf. noun ضَجْعٌ and ضُجُوعٌ[ : He lay upon his side; he lay; he slept. ضَجَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ : The sun approached setting. ضَجَعَ فِي اَمْرِه : He was or became weak in his affair. مَضْجَعٌ )plural( مَضَاجِعُ( : Á place where a man sleeps a bed. تَتَجَافَى جُنُوْبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ Their sides keep separated from their beds )32:17( هُوَ طَيِّبُ الْمَضَاجِعِ : He has well-born wives like هُوَ كَرِيمُ الْمَفَارِشِ 28 28 28 ضَحِكَ ]aor. يَضْحَكُ inf. noun ضَحْفٌ and ضِحْفٌ and ضِحِفٌ and ضَحِفٌ[ )cont. of بکی( : He laughed. ضَحِكَ عَلَيْهِ or ضَحِكَ بِهِ or ضَحِكَ عَنْهُ : He laughed at him; derided him or ridiculed him. ضَحِكَ الرَّجُلُ : The man wondered or wondered at him. It also means, the man was frightened or he feared. اَلصِّحْكُ signifies : the expanding of the face and displaying of the teeth on account of joy, happiness and gladness: إِبْتَسَمَ is the beginning thereof. ضَحِكَتِ الْأَرْضُ : The earth put forth its herbage etc. ضَحِكَ الطَّرِيقُ : The way became apparent. ضَحِكَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ : The woman laughed by reason of happiness; she was frightened; she wondered; she menstruated. فَضَحِكَتْ : She was frightened )11:72( وَكُنتُمْ مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُوْنَ : And you used to laugh at them )23111( أَضْحَكَهُ : He made him laugh. أَضْحَكَ الْحَوْضَ : He filled the tank so that it overflowed. هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَاَبْكَى : It is He Who makes people laugh and makes (them) weep )53:44( صَاحِكٌ )act. part. ): Laughing; one who laughs. صَاحِكًا مِّنْ قَوْلِهَا : 501 28
