ذهب ذنب they confess their sins )ذُنُوْبٌ )plural( فَاغْفِرْلَنَا ذُنُوْبَنَا : And Thou forgive us our sins )3:17( ذَنُوْبٌ : A horse having a long tail; a great bucket; a bucket full of water or nearly full of water; a lot, share or portion. مثل ذُنُوْبِ أَصْحْبِهِمْ : Like the share of their fellows (51:60); metaphorically it is applied to "rain". ذَهَبَ aor. يَذْهَبُ inf. noun ذَهَابٌ and مَذْهَبٌ[ : He went or passed along; marched; journeyed; proceeded; passed away; departed. Syn. with مَشَى or سَارَ or فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ الْخَوْقُ مَرَّ : But when the fear has passed away (33:20); It (said of a mark or trace) wasted away, became consumed, destroyed, exhausted, or expended. تَذْهَبَ رِيْحُكُمْ : Your strength depart from you or become exhausted )8:47( فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَاتٍ : So let not thy soul waste away in sighing for them )35:9( ذَهَبَ إِلَيْهِ : He went, repaired, betook himself, or had recourse to himorit. ثَمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّى : Then he went to his kinsfolk, strutting along )75:34( ذَهَبَ عَنْهُ : He or it went from, quitted, relinquished or left him or it. فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّوْعُ : And when fear left Abraham )11:75( ذَهَبَ عَقْلُهُ أَوْفُؤَادُهُ : His reason or intellect left or forsook him or his heart. ذَهَبَ لَحْمُهُ : His flesh wasted away. ذَهَبَ فِي الْأَرْضِ : He went into the open country or out of doors, to satisfy a want of nature. ذَهَبَ عَلَيَّ الشَّيْءُ : The thing escaped my memory; it became confused or vague to me. ذَهَبَ بِهِ : He went or went away with him or it, and he made him or it to go away or depart or he took it away, or carried off. ذَهَبَ اللهُ بِنُورِهِمْ : God took away their light )2:18( يَذْهَبَا بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ الْمُثْلَى : And these two take away or destroy your best traditions )20:64( اَذْهَبَهُ : He removed, dispelled, put it away; he made it to cease; he did away or made away with it; he made an end of it; he wasted, exhausted or destroyed or spent it. الَّذِى : اَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَتِكُمْ (35:35) Who has removed grief fromus : اذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ You exhausted your good things in life )46:21( إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيَّاتِ : Surely, good works drive away (or put away or make an end of) bad works )11:115( . فُلانٌ يَذْهَبُ إِلَى قَوْلِ إِبِي حَنِيفَةَ : Such a one holds the creed or opinion of Abu Haneefa ذَهَبَ فِي طَلَبِ الشَّيْءِ كُلُّ مَذْهَبٍ : He tried every way or procedure or did his utmost in seeking the thing. ذَهَبَ إِلَى أَبِيْهِ فِي الشَّبَهِ : He resembled his father. ذَهَابٌ )inf. noun( . إِنَّا عَلَى ذَهَابٍ بِهِ 297
