ذرا ذَرَا (69:33). ذقن ४० ]aor. يَذْرُوْ inf. noun ذَرْوًا [ and ذَرَتْهُ الرِّيْحُ ]aor. تَذْرُوْهُ[ : The wind raisedit, carried it away, scattered it. تَذْرُوْهُ الرِّيحُ : Dry grass broken into pieces which the winds scatter )18:46( ذَرَ الشَّيْءُ : The thing flew away or became scattered in the wind. ذَرَوْتُ الْحِنْطَةَ : I winnowed the wheat. ذرا الْاَرْضَ : He sowed the land, scattering the seed. النَّارِيَاتُ : The winds that scatter or disperse; or the prolific women, for they scatter children; the causes of the scattering of the created beings, angels and others. وَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْوًا : By the winds that scatter with a true scattering. ذَرْوًا )inf. noun): Is used for the intensification of the meaning (51:2). ذَعِنَ ]aor. يَذْعَنُ inf. noun اَذْعَنَ لَهُ ذَعْنًا : He was or became obedient to him; he acknowledged or confessed to him; he was or became lowly, humble or submissive to him. اَذْعَنَ بِئْ بِحَقِّي : He confessed to my right willingly. وَإِنْ يَكُنْ لَّهُمُ الْحَقُّ يَأْتُوْا إِلَيْهِ مُذْعِنِينَ : If they consider the right to be on their side they come to himrunning in submission (24:50). ذَقَنَ ]aor. يَذْقُنُ inf. noun ذَقَبَهُ ذَقْنٌ : He struck his chin; he struck or beat him with a stick. ذَقَنَ عَلَى عَصَاهُ : He put his chin upon his staff. ذَقَنٌ or ذِقَنٌ : The chin (plural خَرُّوْا لِاَذْقَانِهِمْ . أَذْقَانٌ : They fell down prostrate with their chins to the ground (on their faces(. عَصَفَتِ الرِّيْحُ فَخَرَّ الْاَشْجَارُ عَلَى الْاَذْقَانِ : The wind blew violently so that the trees fell down upon the ground. كَبَّه السَّيْلُ لِذَقَنِهِ : The torrent overturned it. صَاحَ الزَّمَانُ لِآلِ بَرْمَكَ صَيْحَةً خَرُّوْا لِصَيْحَتِهِ عَلَى الْأَذْقَانِ : The time gave a violent cry for the people of Barmak and on account of that cry they fell prostrate upon the ground. يَخِرُّوْنَ لِلْاذْقَانِ سُجَّدًا : They fall down prostrate upon their faces )17:108(. ذَكَرَ ]aor. يَذْكُرُ inf. noun ذِكْرَى and ذِكْرٌ and ذَكَرَهُ تَذْكَارٌ : Heremembered him or it; he recollected it; he preserved it in his memory; he spoke or talked of him or it. أُذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِي : Remember My favour upon you I remembered or recollected the thing : ذَكَرْتُ الشَّيْءَ بَعْدَ النِّسْيَان (2:41) after I had forgotten it. وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ : Andremember when He made you inheritors of His favours (7:70). This is called ذِكْرٌ بِالْقَلْبِ : To remember with or in the mind. ذَكَرَهُ : He mentioned it, told it; related it. ذَكَرْتُ لِفُلَانٍ حَدِيثَ كَذَا وَكَذَا : I mentioned or told or related to such a one 291
