دعا away; he repelled him or he did so harshly, roughly or violently. فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُ الْيَتِيْمَ : That is he who drives away the orphan and does so harshly, roughly or violently or he treats the orphan with harshness or violence. يَوْمَ يُدَعُوْنَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًا : The day when they shall be pushed into the Fire of Hell with a violent thrust (52:14). ]aor. يَدْعُوْ inf. noun دُعَاءٌ and دَعَا اللَّهَ دَعْوَى : He prayed to God or supplicated Him desiring to obtain some good. دَعَوْتُ لَهُ : I prayed for him. دَعَوْتُ عَلَيْهِ : I prayed against him. هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا : There and then did Zachariah pray to God )3:39( دَعَوْتُهُ : I called him called out to him, summoned دَعَا الْمُؤَذِّنُ النَّاسَ إِلَى الصلوة : The مُؤَذِّنٌ called the people to Prayer. إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِنْ لَيْلًا وَّ نَهَارًا : I have called my people night and day )71:6( دَعَوْتُ النَّاسَ : I invited people to eat with me. دَعَاهُ : He called him to his aid. وَادْعُوا شُهَدَاءَ كُمْ : And call to your aid your helpers What led or drew thee or drove thee to do : مَا دَعَاكَ إِلَى هَذَا الْأَمْرِ . (2:24) this thing. دَعَوْتُهُ زَيْدًا أَوْ بِزَيْدٍ : I called or named him Zaid دَعَاهُ اللهُ : God destroyed him. تَدْعُوْا مَنْ اَدْبَرَ وَ تَوَلَّى : It will call him and also it shall destroy him who turned his back and retreated )70:18( دَعَا الْمَيِّتَ : He wailed and wept for the dead. دُعَاءٌ and دَعْوَةٌ : A single time or act of prayer acall to Islam اَدْعُوْكَ بِدَعْوَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ : I call thee or invite thee to accept Islam. دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ : The declaration that there is no deity but God )13:15(; an invitation to food, feast, banquet. دَعَاهُ إِلَى الدَّعْوَةِ : He called him to a feast; a call or cry; particularly a call for aid and succour. وَ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ دَعْوَةً : Then when He called you by acall )30:26(. وَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَاءِ ى الفِرَارًا : But my calling them has only made themflee from me all the more )71:7( وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلا فِي ضَلَلٍ : And the prayer of the disbelievers is but a thing wasted )13:15( لا يَسْمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَاءً وَ نِدَاءً : Which hears nothing but a call and a cry )2:172( اَلدُّعَاءُ is to the near and النِّدَاءُ is to the distant. قَدْ أُجِيْبَتْ دَعْوَتُكُمَا : Your prayer is accepted )10:90(. إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ : Indeed Thou art the Hearer of prayers )3:39( دغوى also means adoration, or religious worship; belief in God. دعوى also means prayer. وَآخِرُ دَعْوَاهُمْ أَنِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ : And the conclusion of their prayer is that all praise be to Allah )10:11( دَعْى also means a claim.
