خنس خمص )the horse). came fifth in the race. خَمْسَةٌ masculine and خَمْسٌ feminine: Five خَمْسَةُ رِجَال : Five men and خَمْسُ نِسْوَةٍ : Five women. يَقُوْلُوْنَ خَمْسَةٌ سَادِسُهُمْ كَلْبُهُمْ : They say, "They were five, the sixth was their dog )18:23( خَامِ and خَامِسَةٌ : Fifth وَالْخَامِسَةُ أَنَّ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ : And his fifth oath will be to say that Allah's curse be upon him )24:8( جَاءَ فُلانٌ خَامِسًا : Such a one came fifth خُمُسٌ or خُمْسٌ : A fifth part. فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُوْلِ : A fifth thereof shall go to Allah and the Messenger )8:42( خَمْسُوْنَ and خَمْسِيْنَ : Fifty and fiftieth. فَلَبِثَ فِيْهِمْ اَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا : And he dwelt among them a thousand years but fifty years (29:15). خَمِصَ ]aor. يَحْمَصُ inf. noun خَمِصَتِ الْقَدَمُ خَمَصٌ : The man's foot was hollow in the middle of the sole so that it did not touch the ground. خَمُصَ الْبَطَنُ )aor يَخْمُصُ and خَمِصَ )aor( يَخْمَصُ( and خَمُصَ )aor. يَأْمُصُ( )inf. noun of all is خَمْصٌ and مَخْمَصَةٌ( : The belly was or became empty i. e. hungry and lank. خَمَصَهُ الْجُوْعِ )aor. يَخْمُصُ ( : Hunger rendered him lank in the belly. مَخْمَصَةٌ : Hunger emptiness of the belly of food. وَلا نَصَبٌ وَ لا مَخْمَصَةٌ : Neither fatigue nor hunger (9:120). خَمَطَ ]aor. يَخْمُطُ inf. noun خَمْطٌ and خَمِطَ aor. يَحْمَطُ inf. noun خَمْطٌ خَمِطَ الرَّجُلُ : The man became proud and angry. خَمَطَ اللَّحْمَ : He roasted the meat. خَمْطٌ : Sour bitter; certain deadly trees; or deadly poison; fruit that is bitter and choking and disagreeable in taste. أُكُلٍ خَمْطٍ : Bitter fruit )34:17(. خَنْزَرَ ]aor. يُخَنْزِرُ inf. noun خَبْزَرَةً [ : He acted like the swine. خِنْزِيرٌ : The swine; the hog; the pig. ) خَنَازِيرُ plural(. وَالدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ الْخِنْزِيرِ : And blood and the flesh of swine )2174( وَجَعَلَ مِنْهُمُ الْقِرَدَةَ وَالْخَنَّازِيْرَ : And of them He has made apes and swine (5: 61). خَنَسَ ]aor. يَخْنُسُ and يَخْنِسُ inf. noun خُنُوْسٌ and خَنْسٌ [ : He drew back; held back; lagged behind; remained behind; receded; retreated or retrograded; he hid himself or became hidden and shrank. خَنَسَ الْكَوْكَبُ : The star went back, returned or became hidden. يَخْنِسُ الشَّيْطَانُ إِذَا سَمِعَ . He remained behind the people : خَنَسَ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ ذِكْرَ اللَّهِ : The devil shrinks when he hears the mention of God. خَنَسَ بهِ : He went away with him so that he was not seen. خَنَسَ 251
