خمس حمد religious services in solitude تَخَلَّى : It or he became alone; it became empty or vacant وَاَلْقَتْ مَا فِيْهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ : And casts out all that is in it and becoms empty )845( خَلّى سَبِيْلَهُ : He left his way free to him. فَخَلُّوْا سَبِيلَهُمْ : Leave their way free )95( خَالٍ : Empty, vacant, void, unoccupied; vacant or free; alone; past or passed away. قُرُوْنٌ خَالِيَةٌ : Generations that have passed away. في الْأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ : In the days that have gone by )69:25(. خَمَدَ ]aor. يَأْمُدُ and حَمِدَ aor. يَحْمَدُ inf. noun خُمُوْدٌ and حَمِدَتْ أَوْ خَمْدٌ حَمَدَتِ النَّارُ : The fire subsided or its flaming and blasting ceased but its embers remained unextinguished; it died away and became utterly extinguished. حَمَدَتِ الْحُمَّى : The fever or its vehemence became allayed. حَمَدَ الْمَرِيْضُ : The patient swooned or fainted or he died. خَامِدُوْنَ خَامِدٌ and خَامِدِينَ are plurals( : Silent and dead. فَإِذَا هُمْ خَامِدُوْنَ : And, they were extinct, silent, dead, and became like extinguished ashes (36:30). خَمَرَ ]aor يَأْمُرُ inf. noun خَمَرَهُ خَمْرٌ : He covered or veiled it. خَمَرَ الشَّهَادَةَ : He concealed the testimony. خَمَرَ أَوْ أَحْمَرَ الرَّجُلَ : He gave the man wine to drink خَمَرَ الْعَجِيْنَ : He leavened the dough. خُمِرَ He became intoxicated. خَمِرَ )aor يَحْمَرُ ( : He became concealed; he hid himself. خَمْرٌ : Wine grape-wine; any intoxicating thing that clouds or obscures the intellect; grapes إِنِّي أَرَانِي أَعْصِرُ خَمْرًا : I see myself pressing grapes or pressing out wine from grapes. إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ : Wine and the games of chance are only )5:91(. حَمِيرٌ : Leaven or ferment. خُمَارٌ : State of intoxication خِمَارٌ ) خُمُرٌ plural) : A woman's veil; a woman's veil with which she covers her head; a man's turban مَا شَمَّ خِمَارَكِ : What has befallen thee. وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَى جُيُوبِهِنَّ : They should draw their head-coverings (veils). over their bosoms (24:32). خَمَسَ ]aor. يَخْمُسُ and يَخْمِسُ inf. noun خَمَسَ الْقَوْمَ خَمْسٌ : He was or became the fifth of the people; he took the fifth part of the possessions of the people. خَمَسَ الْمَالَ : He took the fifth part of the property. خَمْسٌ signifies the taking of one from five. خَمَسَ also signifies, (1). he made fourteen to be fifteen or (2). he made fortynine, to be fifty with himself. خَمَسَ also means, he 250
