تاب تنور تَنُّورٌ did good )6:155( مُتِمٌ )act. part. n. from أَتَمَّ and inf. noun إِثْمَامٌ( : He who completes or makes whole or entire or perfect. وَاللَّهُ مُتِمَّ نوره : And Allah will perfect His light )61:9( تَمَامٌ or تَتِمَّةٌ : Complement or supplement or a thing. It is derived from the root تر and means: A sort of fire-place or oven in which bread is baked; the surface of the ground; the highest part of the earth or ground; any place from which water pours forth; i. e. fountain etc; a place where the water of a valley collects; the break of the dawn. فَارَ التنورُ : The fountains gushed forth (11:41) سان تَابَ aor. يَتُوْبُ inf. noun تَوْبًا and تَوْبَةً and مَتَابًا[ : He returned; he repented. تَابَ إِلَى اللَّهِ : He repented he returned to God with repentance after he was sinful or disobedient. تَابَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ : He desisted from his sin and repented of it. The Holy Prophet is reported to have said النُّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ : Repentance means returning from sin. ثُمَّ تَابَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ : And repents thereafter )6:55( سُبْحَنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ : Holy art Thou, I turn to Thee. )7:144( تُوْبُوْا إِلَى بَارِئِكُمْ : Turn ye to your Creator )2:55( 1) : تَابَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ( God returned to him with mercy and acceptance of repentance; (2) God returned to him with forgiveness; (3) God forgave him and saved him from acts of disobedience, or accepted his repentance; (4) God returned to him with favour and grace. لَقَدْ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ : Allah has certainly turned with Mercy to the Prophet and to the Emigrants and the Helpers )9:117( تَوْبَةٌ or تَوْبٌ signifies the repenting of sin: i. e. the grieving for it or regretting it with the confession of having no excuse for the commission thereof. غَافِرِ الذَّنْبِ وَقَابِلِ التَّوْبِ : The Forgiver of sin and the Acceptor of repentance )40:4( هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ : He )God) accepts repentance from His servants )9:104( تائب : One who repents of sin i. e. returns from disobedience to obedience. )تَائِبُوْنَ plural(. التَّائِبُوْنَ الْعَابِدُوْنَ : Those who return to God in repentance, who worship )9:112( تَائِبَةٌ )fem of تَائِبٌ( : A woman who turns to God in repentance )تَائِبَاتٌ plural( . تَائِبَاتُ عَابِدَاتٌ : Those women who turn to God, who worship )666( تَوَّابُ 107
