اَفَکُلَّمَا جَآءَکُمۡ رَسُوۡلٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَہۡوٰۤی اَنۡفُسُکُمُ

Will you then, every time a Messenger comes to you with what you yourselves desire not

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

مُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُوۡلٍ یَّاۡتِیۡ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِی اسۡمُہٗۤ اَحۡمَدُ

giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.’

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ وَرَافِعُکَ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself

وَاِنۡ مَّا نُرِیَنَّکَ بَعۡضَ الَّذِیۡ نَعِدُہُمۡ اَوۡ نَتَوَفَّیَنَّکَ

And whether We make thee see the fulfilment of some of the things with which We threaten them or whether We make thee die, it makes little difference

اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ

I will cause thee to die

کَانَا یَاۡکُلٰنِ الطَّعَامَ

They both used to eat food

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

بَلَىٰ ۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

بَلَىٰ ۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

فَاذۡکُرُوا اللّٰہَ کَذِکۡرِکُمۡ اٰبَآءَکُمۡ اَوۡ اَشَدَّ ذِکۡرًا

elebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers, or even more than that

وَمَا رَمَیۡتَ اِذۡ رَمَیۡتَ وَلٰکِنَّ اللّٰہَ رَمٰی

And thou threwest not when thou didst throw, but it was Allah Who threw

وَاَیَّدۡنٰہُ بِرُوۡحِ الۡقُدُسِ

and strengthened him with the Spirit of holiness

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

By the heaven and the Morning Star —

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

And what should make thee know what the Morning Star is?

اِنَّ عِبَادِیۡ لَیۡسَ لَکَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ سُلۡطٰنٌ

‘Surely, thou shalt have no power over My servants

وَلَقَدۡ زَیَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنۡیَ بِمَصَابِیۡحَ وَجَعَلۡنٰہَا رُجُوۡمًا لِّلشَّیٰطِیۡنِ

And verily, We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and We have made them for driving away satans

ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

It is the star of piercing brightness —

إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ

There is no soul but has a guardian over it.

وَیُرۡسِلُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ حَفَظَۃً

He sends guardians to watch over you

لَہٗ مُعَقِّبٰتٌ مِّنۡۢ بَیۡنِ یَدَیۡہِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِہٖ یَحۡفَظُوۡنَہٗ مِنۡ اَمۡرِ اللّٰہِ ؕ

For him (the Messenger) is a succession of angels before him and behind him; they guard him by the command of Allah.

وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ

But there are guardians over you

فَأَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقۡوَىٰهَا

And He revealed to it what is wrong for it and what is right for it —

یَفۡعَلُوۡنَ مَا یُؤۡمَرُوۡنَ

and do what they are commanded.

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ

And the angels say: ‘And there is not one of us but has an appointed station.

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِنۡ تَتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ یَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ فُرۡقَانًا

O ye who believe! if you fear Allah, He will grant you a distinction

فَمِنۡہُمۡ ظَالِمٌ لِّنَفۡسِہٖ ۚ وَمِنۡہُمۡ مُّقۡتَصِدٌ ۚ وَمِنۡہُمۡ سَابِقٌۢ بِالۡخَیۡرٰتِ

And of them are some who are breaking down their own selves by suppressing their desires, and of them are some who keep to the right course, and of them are some who excel others in acts of goodness

وَیَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ نُوۡرًا تَمۡشُوۡنَ بِہٖ

and will provide for you a light wherein you will walk,

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

نَحۡنُ اَولِیٰٓؤُکُمۡ فِی الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا وَفِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ

We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter.

اَوَمَنۡ کَانَ مَیۡتًا فَاَحۡیَیۡنٰہُ وَجَعَلۡنَا لَہٗ نُوۡرًا یَّمۡشِیۡ بِہٖ فِی النَّاسِ کَمَنۡ مَّثَلُہٗ فِی الظُّلُمٰتِ لَیۡسَ بِخَارِجٍ مِّنۡہَا

Can he, who was dead and We gave him life and made for him a light whereby he walks among men, be like him whose condition is that he is in utter darkness whence he cannot come forth?

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی الۡاَحۡیَآءُ وَلَا الۡاَمۡوَاتُ

Nor alike are the living and the dead.

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

By the heaven and the Morning Star —

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

And what should make thee know what the Morning Star is?

ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

It is the star of piercing brightness —

إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ

There is no soul but has a guardian over it.

اُولٰٓئِکَ کَتَبَ فِیۡ قُلُوۡبِہِمُ الۡاِیۡمَانَ وَاَیَّدَہُمۡ بِرُوۡحٍ مِّنۡہُ

These are they in whose hearts Allah has inscribed true faith and whom He has strengthened with inspiration from Himself.

وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ

By the stemless plant when it falls,

مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ

Your companion has neither erred, nor has he gone astray,

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ

The Lord of mighty powers has taught him,

ذُو مِرَّةٖ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ

The One Possessor of strength. So He manifested His ascendance over everything,

وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ

And He revealed His Word when he was on the uppermost horizon,

وَاَیَّدۡنٰہُ بِرُوۡحِ الۡقُدُسِ

and strengthened him with the Spirit of holiness

وَاَیَّدَہُمۡ بِرُوۡحٍ مِّنۡہُ

And whom He has strengthened with inspiration from Himself.

وَأَنَّا لَمَسۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدۡنَٰهَا مُلِئَتۡ حَرَسٗا شَدِيدٗا وَشُهُبٗا

‘And we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and shooting stars.

وَّاَنَّا کُنَّا نَقۡعُدُ مِنۡہَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمۡعِ ؕ فَمَنۡ یَّسۡتَمِعِ الۡاٰنَ یَجِدۡ لَہٗ

And we used to sit on some of its seats to listen. But whoso listens now,

شِہَابًا رَّصَدًا

inds a shooting star in ambush for him.

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

ثُمَّ أَوۡرَثۡنَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصۡطَفَيۡنَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ۖ فَمِنۡهُمۡ ظَالِمٞ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ وَمِنۡهُم مُّقۡتَصِدٞ وَمِنۡهُمۡ سَابِقُۢ بِٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَضۡلُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ

Then We gave the Book for an inheritance to those of Our servants whom We chose. And of them are some who are breaking down their own selves by suppressing their desires, and of them are some who keep to the right course, and of them are some who excel others in acts of goodness by Allah’s leave. And that indeed is the great distinction.

وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَٰتِ عُرۡفٗا

By the angels who are sent forth with goodness,

فَٱلۡعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصۡفٗا

And then they push on with a forceful pushing,

وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشۡرٗا

And by the forces that spread the truth, a good spreading,

فَٱلۡفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرۡقٗا

And then they distinguish fully between good and evil.

فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَٰتِ ذِكۡرًا

Then they carry the exhortation far and wide

وَٱلذَّـٰرِيَٰتِ ذَرۡوٗا

By the winds that scatter seeds with a true scattering,

فَٱلۡحَٰمِلَٰتِ وِقۡرٗا

Then by the clouds that carry the load of moisture,

فَٱلۡجَٰرِيَٰتِ يُسۡرٗا

Then by the rivers that flow gently,

فَٱلۡمُقَسِّمَٰتِ أَمۡرًا

And then by the angels that finally administer and execute affairs,

فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمۡرٗا

Then they manage the affair entrusted to them.

کُلٌّ فِیۡ فَلَکٍ یَّسۡبَحُوۡنَ

each gliding along in its orbit.

وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاهِيَةٞ

And the heaven will cleave asunder, and it will become frail that day.

وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ

And the angels will be standing on the sides thereof, and above them on that day eight angels will bear the throne of thy Lord.

إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ

There is no soul but has a guardian over it.

الٓمٓ

Alif Lam Mim.

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيۡبَۛ فِيهِۛ هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous,

وَلَقَدۡ زَیَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنۡیا بِمَصَابِیۡحَ وَجَعَلۡنٰہَا رُجُوۡمًا لِّلشَّیٰطِیۡنِ

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡکُمۡ اِلَّا وَارِدُہَا ۚ کَانَ

And there is not one of you but will come to it.

وَحَمَلَہَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ ظَلُوۡمًا جَہُوۡلًا

But man bore it. Indeed, he is capable of being unjust to, and neglectful of, himself.

ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيّٗا

Then We shall save the righteous and We shall leave the wrongdoers therein, on their knees.

عَلٰی رَبِّکَ حَتۡمًا مَّقۡضِیًّا

This is a fixed decree with thy Lord.

مَن جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡهَا وَهُم مِّن فَزَعٖ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ءَامِنُونَ

Whoever does a good deed, shall have a better reward than that, and such will be secure from terror that day.

وَمَن جَآءَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتۡ وُجُوهُهُمۡ فِي ٱلنَّارِ هَلۡ تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

And those who do evil, shall be thrown down on their faces into the Fire: ‘Are you not rewarded for what you have been doing?’

کُلٌّ فِیۡ فَلَکٍ یَّسۡبَحُوۡنَ

each gliding along in its orbit.

يَٰعِبَادِ لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ وَلَآ أَنتُمۡ تَحۡزَنُونَ

‘O My servants, there is no fear for you this day, nor shall you grieve;

مَنۡ کَانَ فِیۡ ہٰذِہٖۤ اَعۡمٰی فَہُوَ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اَعۡمٰی

whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter

يَوۡمَ نَطۡوِي ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَيِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلۡكُتُبِ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأۡنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلۡقٖ نُّعِيدُهُۥ ۚ وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

Remember the day when We shall roll up the heavens like the rolling up of written scrolls by a scribe. As We began the first creation, so shall We repeat it — a promise binding upon Us; We shall certainly perform it.

وَالسَّمٰوٰتُ مَطۡوِیّٰتٌۢ بِیَمِیۡنِہٖ

and the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand.

ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيّٗا

Then We shall save the righteous and We shall leave the wrongdoers therein, on their knees.

لِمَنِ الۡمُلۡکُ الۡیَوۡمَ ؕ لِلّٰہِ الۡوَاحِدِ الۡقَہَّارِ

‘Whose is the kingdom this day?’ ‘It is Allah’s, the One, the Most Supreme.

كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَيۡهَا فَانٖ

All that is on it (earth) will pass away.

وَيَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ

And there will remain only the Person of thy Lord, Master of Glory and Honour.

وَاَقۡرَضُوا اللّٰہَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنًا

and those who lend to Allah a goodly loan

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّکُمۡ بِشَیۡءٍ مِّنَ الۡخَوۡفِ وَالۡجُوۡعِ

And We will try you with something of fear and hunger

الَّذِیۡنَ کَذَبُوۡا عَلَی اللّٰہِ وُجُوۡہُہُمۡ مُّسۡوَدَّۃٌ ؕ اَلَیۡسَ فِیۡ جَہَنَّمَ مَثۡوًی لِّلۡمُتَکَبِّرِیۡنَ

thou wilt see those who lied against Allah with their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell an abode for the proud?

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡکُمۡ اِلَّا وَارِدُہَا

And there is not one of you but will come to it.

وَيُنَجِّي ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْ بِمَفَازَتِهِمۡ لَا يَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلسُّوٓءُ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

And Allah will deliver the righteous and lead them to a place of security and success; evil shall not touch them, nor shall they grieve.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ وَمِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِثۡلَهُنَّ ۖ يَتَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ بَيۡنَهُنَّ لِتَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عِلۡمَۢا

Allah is He Who created seven heavens, and of the earth the like thereof. The divine command comes down in their midst, that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah encompasses all things in His knowledge.

وَحَمَلَہَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ ظَلُوۡمًا جَہُوۡلًا

man bore it. Indeed, he is capable of being unjust to, and neglectful of, himself.

إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Verily His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, ‘Be!,’ and it is.

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَاۡمُرُکُمۡ اَنۡ تُؤَدُّوا الۡاَمٰنٰتِ اِلٰۤی اَہۡلِہَا

Verily, Allah commands you to make over the trusts to those entitled to them

فَقُلۡ اَسۡلَمۡتُ وَجۡہِیَ لِلّٰہِ

say, ‘I have submitted myself to Allah,

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you and forgive you your faults. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.’

وَاَنَّ ہٰذَا صِرَاطِیۡ مُسۡتَقِیۡمًا فَاتَّبِعُوۡہُ ۚ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِکُمۡ عَنۡ سَبِیۡلِہٖ

And say, ‘This is My path leading straight. So follow it; and follow not other ways, lest they lead you away from His way.

لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُۥ ۖ وَبِذَٰلِكَ أُمِرۡتُ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ

‘He has no partner. And so am I commanded, and I am the first of those who submit.’

قُلۡ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحۡيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Say, ‘My Prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are all for Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

۞قُلۡ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَمَّا جَآءَنِيَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ مِن رَّبِّي وَأُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أُسۡلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Say, ‘I have been forbidden to worship those whom you call upon beside Allah since there have come unto me clear proofs from my Lord; and I have been commanded to submit myself to the Lord of the worlds.’

وَلَمۡ تَظۡلِمۡ مِّنۡہُ شَیۡئًا

and failed not the least therein.

وَحَمَلَہَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ ظَلُوۡمًا جَہُوۡلً

man bore it. Indeed, he is capable of being unjust to, and neglectful of, himself.

اِنَّا عَرَضۡنَا الۡاَمَانَۃَ عَلَی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَالۡجِبَالِ فَاَبَیۡنَ اَنۡ یَّحۡمِلۡنَہَا وَاَشۡفَقۡنَ مِنۡہَا وَحَمَلَہَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ

Verily, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and were afraid of it. But man bore it. Indeed, he is capable of being

ظَلُوۡمًا جَہُوۡلًا

and neglectful of, himself.

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلّٗا فَهَدَىٰ

And He found thee wandering in search for Him and guided thee unto Himself.

أَلَمۡ يَجِدۡكَ يَتِيمٗا فَـَٔاوَىٰ

Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter?

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلّٗا فَهَدَىٰ

And He found thee wandering in search for Him and guided thee unto Himself.

وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلٗا فَأَغۡنَىٰ

And He found thee in want and enriched thee.

فَأَمَّا ٱلۡيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقۡهَرۡ

So the orphan, oppress not,

وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنۡهَرۡ

And him who seeks thy help, chide not,

وَأَمَّا بِنِعۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثۡ

And the bounty of thy Lord, proclaim.

اِنَّ رَبَّکُمُ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ فِیۡ سِتَّۃِ اَیَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسۡتَوٰی عَلَی الۡعَرۡشِ

Verily, your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, then He settled Himself on the Throne

لِّيُعَذِّبَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكَٰتِ وَيَتُوبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمَۢا

The result is that Allah will punish hypocritical men and hypocritical women, and idolatrous men and idolatrous women; and Allah turns in mercy to believing men and believing women; and Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن سُلَٰلَةٖ مِّن طِينٖ

Verily, We created man from an extract of clay;

ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ نُطۡفَةٗ فِي قَرَارٖ مَّكِينٖ

Then We placed him as a drop of sperm in a safe depository;

اَللّٰہُ نُوۡرُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِنۡ تَتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ یَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ فُرۡقَانًا وَّیُکَفِّرۡ عَنۡکُمۡ سَیِّاٰتِکُمۡ

O ye who believe! if you fear Allah, He will grant you a distinction

وَیَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ نُوۡرًا تَمۡشُوۡنَ بِہٖ

and will provide for you a light wherein you will walk,

فَاِذَا سَوَّیۡتُہٗ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِیۡہِ مِنۡ رُّوۡحِیۡ

‘So when I have fashioned him in perfection and have breathed into him of My Spirit

وَہُوَ الۡقَاہِرُ فَوۡقَ عِبَادِہٖ

And He is Supreme over His servants

لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ فِيٓ أَحۡسَنِ تَقۡوِيمٖ

Surely, We have created man in the best make;

یُّؤۡتِی الۡحِکۡمَۃَ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ ۚ وَمَنۡ یُّؤۡتَ الۡحِکۡمَۃَ

He grants wisdom to whom He pleases, and whoever is granted wisdom

اِنَّمَا یَخۡشَی اللّٰہَ مِنۡ عِبَادِہِ الۡعُلَمٰٓؤُا

Only those of His servants who possess knowledge fear Allah

فَقَدۡ اُوۡتِیَ خَیۡرًا کَثِیۡرًا

has indeed been granted abundant good

ہُوَ خَیۡرٌ مِّمَّا یَجۡمَعُوۡنَ

That is better than what they hoard.’

قُلۡ رَّبِّ زِدۡنِیۡ عِلۡمًا

O my Lord, increase me in knowledge.

وَعَلَّمَکَ مَا لَمۡ تَکُنۡ تَعۡلَمُ ؕ وَکَانَ فَضۡلُ اللّٰہِ عَلَیۡکَ عَظِیۡمًا

and has taught thee what thou knewest not, and great is Allah’s grace on thee.

قُلۡ یٰعِبَادِیَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَسۡرَفُوۡا عَلٰۤی اَنۡفُسِہِمۡ لَا تَقۡنَطُوۡا مِنۡ رَّحۡمَۃِ اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَغۡفِرُ الذُّنُوۡبَ جَمِیۡعًا

Say, “O My servants who have committed excesses against their own souls! despair not of the mercy of Allah, surely Allah forgives all sins.

وَلَعَبۡدٌ مُّؤۡمِنٌ خَیۡرٌ مِّنۡ مُّشۡرِکٍ

a believing slave is better than an idolater, although he may highly please you.

اَوَلَمۡ یَرَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اَنَّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ کَانَتَا رَتۡقًا فَفَتَقۡنٰہُمَا ؕ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنَ الۡمَآءِ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ حَیٍّ

Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass, then We opened them out? And We made from water every living thing.

قُلۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تُحِبُّوۡنَ اللّٰہَ فَاتَِّعُوۡنِیۡ یُحۡبِبۡکُمُ اللّٰہُ وَیَغۡفِرۡ لَکُمۡ ذُنُوۡبَکُمۡ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you and forgive you your faults

فَخَلَقۡنَا الۡمُضۡغَۃَ عِظٰمًا

We fashioned bones out of this shapeless lump

اِعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ یُحۡیِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَا

Know that Allah is now quickening the earth after its death.

وَاَیَّدَہُمۡ بِرُوۡحٍ مِّنۡہُ

And whom He has strengthened with inspiration from Himself.

کُنۡتُمۡ خَیۡرَ اُمَّۃٍ اُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind

اَشِدَّآءُ عَلَی الۡکُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَیۡنَہُمۡ

hard against the disbelievers, tender among themselves.

ثُمَّ اَنۡشَاۡنٰہُ خَلۡقًا اٰخَرَ

then We developed it into another creation

وَرَأَيۡتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدۡخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفۡوَاجٗا

And thou seest men entering the religion of Allah in troops,

هُوَ ٱلَّذِي بَعَثَ فِي ٱلۡأُمِّيِّـۧنَ رَسُولٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَإِن كَانُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ لَفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ

He it is Who has raised among the Unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His Signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest misguidance;

وَءَاخَرِينَ مِنۡهُمۡ لَمَّا يَلۡحَقُواْ بِهِمۡ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِکَ مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ وَّلَا نَبِیٍّ

Never sent We a Messenger or a Prophet before thee

کُلٌّ یَّعۡمَلُ عَلٰی شَاکِلَتِہٖ

Everyone acts according to his own way

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَقِیۡلَ یٰۤاَرۡضُ ابۡلَعِیۡ مَآءَکِ وَیٰسَمَآءُ اَقۡلِعِیۡ وَغِیۡضَ الۡمَآءُ وَقُضِیَ الۡاَمۡرُ وَاسۡتَوَتۡ عَلَی الۡجُوۡدِیِّ

nd it was said, ‘O earth, swallow thy water, and O sky, cease raining.’ And the water was made to subside and the matter was ended. And the Ark came to rest on al-Judi.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

لَہُمُ الۡبُشۡرٰی فِی الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا

For them are glad tidings in the present life

لَنۡ یَّجۡعَلَ اللّٰہُ لِلۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ عَلَی الۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ سَبِیۡلًا

Allah will not grant the disbelievers a way to prevail against the believers.

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِنۡ تَتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ یَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ فُرۡقَانًا

O ye who believe! if you fear Allah, He will grant you a distinction

وَیَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ نُوۡرًا تَمۡشُوۡنَ بِہٖ

and will provide for you a light wherein you will walk

لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَیۡہِ الۡقُرۡاٰنُ جُمۡلَۃً وَّاحِدَۃً

Why was not the Qur’an revealed to him all at once

وَاغۡلُظۡ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

and be strict against them

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحۡسِنُونَ

Verily, Allah is with those who are righteous and those who do good.

فَلَمَّا زَاغُوۡۤا اَزَاغَ اللّٰہُ قُلُوۡبَہُمۡ

So when they deviated from the right course, Allah caused their hearts to deviate

وَاِنۡ یَّکُ صَادِقًا یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ

But if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you.

فَلَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

He reveals not His secrets to any one,

اِلَّا مَنِ ارۡتَضٰی مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيۡكَ إِعۡرَاضُهُمۡ فَإِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتَ أَن تَبۡتَغِيَ نَفَقٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَوۡ سُلَّمٗا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَأۡتِيَهُم بِـَٔايَةٖ ۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَمَعَهُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰ ۚ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ

And if their aversion is grievous to thee, then, if thou art able to seek a passage into the earth or a ladder unto heaven, and bring them a Sign, thou canst do so. And had Allah enforced His will, He could surely have brought them together into the guidance. So be thou not of those who lack knowledge.

وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَئِن جَآءَتۡهُمۡ ءَايَةٞ لَّيُؤۡمِنُنَّ بِهَا ۚ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡأٓيَٰتُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَمَا يُشۡعِرُكُمۡ أَنَّهَآ إِذَا جَآءَتۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

And they swear their strongest oaths by Allah that if there came to them a Sign, they would surely believe therein. Say, ‘Surely, Signs are with Allah. But what should make you understand that when the Signs come, they will not believe?’

یَوۡمَ یَاۡتِیۡ بَعۡضُ اٰیٰتِ رَبِّکَ لَا یَنۡفَعُ نَفۡسًا اِیۡمَانُہَا لَمۡ تَکُنۡ اٰمَنَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ

The day when some of the Signs of thy Lord shall come, to believe in them shall not profit a soul which believed not before

وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَتۡہُمۡ رُسُلُہُمۡ بِالۡبَیِّنٰتِ ۚ فَمَا کَانُوۡا لِیُؤۡمِنُوۡا بِمَا کَذَّبُوۡا مِنۡ قَبۡلُ ؕ کَذٰلِکَ یَطۡبَعُ اللّٰہُ عَلٰی قُلُوۡبِ الۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ

And their Messengers did indeed come to them with clear Signs. But they would not believe what they had disbelieved before. In this manner does Allah seal up the hearts of the disbelievers.

قُلۡ لَّاۤ اَمۡلِکُ لِنَفۡسِیۡ ضَرًّا وَّلَا نَفۡعًا اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللّٰہُ ؕ لِکُلِّ اُمَّۃٍ اَجَلٌ

Say, ‘I have no power for myself over any harm or benefit, save that which Allah wills. For every disbelieving people there is an appointed term.

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

And they say, ‘When will this promise come to pass, if indeed you are truthful?’

فَبِہُدٰٮہُمُ اقۡتَدِہۡ

so follow thou their guidance

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٖ وَلَا نَبِيٍّ إِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنَّىٰٓ أَلۡقَى ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ فِيٓ أُمۡنِيَّتِهِۦ فَيَنسَخُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يُلۡقِي ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ ثُمَّ يُحۡكِمُ ٱللَّهُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ

Never sent We a Messenger or a Prophet before thee, but when he sought to attain what he aimed at, Satan put obstacles in the way of what he sought after. But Allah removes the obstacles that are placed by Satan. Then Allah firmly establishes His Signs. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise.

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

اِنَّ عِبَادِیۡ لَیۡسَ لَکَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ سُلۡطٰنٌ

‘Surely, thou shalt have no power over My servants

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it,

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

مَا یَعۡلَمُ جُنُوۡدَ رَبِّکَ اِلَّا ہُوَ

And none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He

وَکُنۡتُ عَلَیۡہِمۡ شَہِیۡدًا مَّا دُمۡتُ فِیۡہِمۡ ۚ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

And I was a witness over them as long as I remained among them, but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them;

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ

Therein shall you live

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death

قَدۡ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡکُمۡ لِبَاسًا

e have indeed sent down to you raiment

وَمَا نُنَزِّلُہٗۤ اِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعۡلُوۡمٍ

and We send it not down except in a known measur

وَاَنۡزَلَ لَکُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَنۡعَامِ

He has sent down for you eight head of cattle

وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا الۡحَدِیۡدَ

and We sent down iron

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

By the cloud which gives rain after rain,

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ

And by the earth which opens out with herbage,

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ

It is surely a decisive word,

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ

And it is not a useless talk.

إِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗا

Surely they plan a plan,

وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدٗا

And I also plan a plan.

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٞ

Surely, He has the power to bring him back to life

ائۡتِیَا طَوۡعًا اَوۡ کَرۡہًا ؕ قَالَتَاۤ اَتَیۡنَا طَآئِعِیۡنَ

Come ye both of you, willingly or unwillingly.’ They said, ‘We come willingly.’

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

By the cloud which gives rain after rain,

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا

and will clear thee from the charges of those who disbelieve,

إِذۡ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لِأَبِيهِ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّي رَأَيۡتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوۡكَبٗا وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ رَأَيۡتُهُمۡ لِي سَٰجِدِينَ

Remember the time when Joseph said to his father, ‘O my father, I saw in a dream eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them making obeisance to me.’

اِنِّیۡۤ اَرٰی سَبۡعَ بَقَرٰتٍ سِمَانٍ یَّاۡکُلُہُنَّ سَبۡعٌ عِجَافٌ وَّسَبۡعَ سُنۡۢبُلٰتٍ خُضۡرٍ وَّاُخَرَ یٰبِسٰتٍ ؕ یٰۤاَیُّہَا الۡمَلَاُ اَفۡتُوۡنِیۡ فِیۡ رُءۡیَایَ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ لِلرُّءۡیَا تَعۡبُرُوۡنَ

seven fat kine which seven lean ones eat up, and seven green ears of corn and seven others withered. O ye chiefs, explain to me the meaning of my dream if you can interpret a dream.’

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Do men think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and that they will not be tested?

وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتۡ

And when the mountains are made to move,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ

And when the beasts are gathered together,

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ

And when people are brought together,

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡ

And when books are spread abroad.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ

And when the stars are scattered,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ

And when the rivers are made to flow forth into canals,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ

And when the earth is spread out,

وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ

And casts out all that is in her, and becomes empty;

إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا

When the earth is shaken with her violent shaking,

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتۡ

And when the heaven is laid bare,

وَاِنَّا لَہٗ لَحٰفِظُوۡنَ

and most surely We will be its Guardian.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

فَیُمۡسِکُ الَّتِیۡ قَضٰی عَلَیۡہَا الۡمَوۡتَ

And then He retains those against which He has decreed death

قُلۡ سِیۡرُوۡا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ

Say, ‘Go about in the earth,

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَكُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

O ye who believe! fear Allah and be with the truthful.

اَعِدُّوۡا لَہُمۡ مَّا اسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ قُوَّۃٍ

ake ready for them whatever you can of armed force

فَلَا تَکُنۡ فِیۡ ِرۡیَۃٍ مِّنۡ لِّقَآئِہٖ

be not therefore in doubt as to the meeting with Him

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِي ٱشۡتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصۡرَ لِٱمۡرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكۡرِمِي مَثۡوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدٗا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأۡوِيلِ ٱلۡأَحَادِيثِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

And the man from Egypt who bought him said to his wife, ‘Make his stay honourable. Maybe he will be of benefit to us; or we shall adopt him as a son.’ And thus did We establish Joseph in the land, and We did so that We might also teach him the interpretation of things. And Allah has full power over His decree, but most men know it not.
